Do you know if autorcm is enabled automatically by ChoiDujourNX once doing the update or would i be best to enable it first in hekate and then do the update? Just wanna be super safe about this.

it's automatic. it replaces your BOOT0 with one where the AutoRCM corruption is already in place.

If I use this tool to update to 5.x from 4.1 can I later on just install a 4.1 package or do I have to do a full NAND restore?

A: Because fuses are burned on first normal boot, not during the install. By default, ChoiDujourNX will enable AutoRCM on any flashed firmware image, meaning that the normal nintendo bootloader will never get the chance to burn the fuses.

What is the general experience with the nogc patch? How laggy does the system become? Or does it only lag going in/out of sleep? I've seen mixed reports. It's the only thing holding me back from updating from 3.0.0.

It extents boot and resume-from sleep times by 5-10s, i might fix that eventually.

@shchmue With AutoRCM when turning the system on do we still have to hold vol+ and power? also is it best to hold power button down for 12 seconds when turning switch off so it doesnt drain battery from rcm?

idk probably I never turn mine off. the best way I know of is powering down through hekate.

no when you turn it on it's in RCM automatically. no buttons required

You cannot downgrade below your fuse-set.

However, if you have a rare 1.00 switch, and update using this method to 5.1, you can downgrade all the way back to 1.00 again, ASSUMING you block the cartridge slot update.
This is because this method does not burn any fuses.

If you made a NAND backup on 2.3.0 i dont see why you couldnt go back someday.

Wont be able to go back if not have the NAND backup. The point of Choixdujour is to update firmware without burning fuses and then if wanna go downgrade back at a later date with NAND backup you can.
Ya cart slot will work on older firmware if you disabled the update thing.

thanks dude but I read that upgrading to firmware greater than 4.X will flash a new firmware / driver for your card slot so impossible to get it working once downgrading as the old firmware/driver for the cart slot is not the same as before anymore.

Yup thats why we have to disable it when going 4.0+ so if we do go back card slot will still work on our older firmwares.
