I just have to copy the contents of hb loader nx to the root in SDFilesV61 and add kip1patch = nogc, nosigchk in hekate_ipl.ini right? Too afraid of not being able to downgrade if needed.

If I upgrade my 3.0.0 to 5.1.0, I will not lost my saves ?

I forgot, with the firmware of course.

With FS_XXX_nogc.kip1 do i rename the XXX to the firmware im going to for example FS_5.1.0_nogc.kip1? And with this target do i add it into every section of the hekate_ipl.ini then im good to go? Any other ini's i should be adding this in? Im also on 1.0.0 so do i place debugmode=1 at the top under [config] yeah? chers.

No you don't rename. They are not compatible across versions. Which is why you shouldn't use pre-patched ones, instead just use kip1patch=nogc if needed.

First time using the homebrew menu and ChoiDujourNX doesnt start, anythig im doing wrong? On 1.0.0 Switch.

You need svc and debug perms read op
I did =/

[config]
autoboot=0
bootwait=5
customlogo=1
verification=2
debugmode=1
fullsvcperm=1
{ }

Is that right?

Edit: also using the "kip1patch=nogc" in the ini still allows me to use my gamecarts i must have done soemthing wrong here.

Edit 2: https://github.com/rajkosto/nx-hbloader/releases used this updated one still doesnt boot. In hekate which cfw option do i use? Ive been selecting CFW for Firmware 1.0 maybe thats the issue.

Did you find a solution to get into HBloader from Gallery ? My GCU is not updated, is hekate the only safe way to access it ?
I did.
"First i swapped my "hekate_ipl.ini" to my "hekate_ipl.iniNOGC"
This means i took "hekate_ipl.iniNOGC" and named it "hekate_ipl.ini"
and i Named "hekate_ipl.ini" to "hekate_ipl.inibak2" "

So basically i used my original hekate_ipl.ini and had no problems at all, though i did modify it with the line of code that was recommended. I posted it all in that big post.

i cared about the config of GCupdate because at the time i was unsure and wanted to be extra careful. :p :)
better safe than sorry in my book.

Ok disregard all what i said, i finally got it working just pasted
debugmode=1
fullsvcperm=1
into all the sections of the ini.

Also with the nogc.kip added in hekate ini should my gamecart slot still work before updating from 1.0 yes? Just wanna make sure everythigns right before i do the no fuse burn update.

After installing 4.0.0 or higher it writes its own hekate_ipl.ini to protect from gamecart updates... just use it as a reference when replacing it.

Ok and autorcm is auto enabled via ChoiDujourNX once i select the firmware to update? or i have to enable this via hekate first? thanks for your help!

Ive done steps 1-4 just need to copy my 5.1.0 update folder onto the sd card now then should be good to go.

Im about to do the update just needa be sure on one more thing before i do it.

Do i need to enable autorcm in hekate before using ChoiDujourNX or does this auto add it and i dont need to worry about touching the hekate autorcm option after im done?

Edit: Just realised that i wont be able to use my physical copies of Zelda: BOTW, Super Mario Odyssey, & PuyoPuyo Tetris once updated. To anyone what is our best backup loader options that wont screw up the nogc.kip and fuse protections?

can i use this to downgrade from 5.1 back to 1.0 to check if my gc still works or i have to restore my full nand backup using hekate?

so nobody reads the FAQ in the OP then ?
I did. I never clicked on the screenshots you provided, though, which make that specific FAQ entry more clear.
Without the screenshots it seemed to me like there were different firmware versions that either did or did not include the exFAT files and I was searching all around the place to get further info about that.

Also reading the FAQ after being scene-absent for months implies so much stuff to research/get the names/descriptions right to understand everything, that I'd rather ask a stupid question instead of doing stupid stuff on my console.
That's not your fault though.

My bad. Thank you for your work!

Thanks for the xcoughbins cough btw.
