Hi there folks i had sent my switch in for repair because i had a sleep mode problem,
basically every time it would auto sleep or i put it to sleep it would instantly wake up and throw error code 2113-0112

After restore to factory data reset, downgrading firmware with hekate and hactool, and then even
after re upgrading with system update to 5.1.0 it still would not sleep correctly..
so i knew then or thought that it would have to be a hardware issue a componant that manages low power state or switch whatever...

Anyway so they sent me a repair email telling me they found a fault with the mainboard and that it would Cost £53. I thought seen as i get a 12 month warranty back its worth the price just for the warranty alone.

So today i recieved a email stating they have fixed the error code and information i gave them

but they also sent another email saying this

Dear Mr Canna,

Thank you for using Nintendo Customer Support, and for your continued support and love for Nintendo products.

Your Nintendo Switch console (Serial No: XAJ4000344XXXX) was sent to our technicians for repair. Unfortunately it was found during the repairs that some of the data on the console had become unreadable due to the nature of the fault, including:

- Users registered on the console
- Link between your user on the console and your Nintendo Account
- Data saved under Data Management (software data, save data, etc.)

The console has been deregistered as the active console for downloads for your Nintendo Account. Upon return of the console, please create a new user and link it to your Nintendo Account.

Please note that your Nintendo Account has not been deleted, so once you have created a new user on the console and linked it to your Nintendo Account, you will be able to re-download any software or downloadable content purchased on Nintendo eShop. However, please be aware that some content may no longer be available for download due to distribution reasons. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

saddly i wouldn't cause you know they'll just replace the mb with a patched version, you already did i see but come to think of it TX said their working on unhackable models too so if they did put a new mb in (patched) you should be fine

Wiping everything is standard procedure at any company that produces electronics where personal data can be entered. They just do it for security reasons. That's common knowledge.
I sent my phone to HTC once because of a broken headphone jack. Jack replaced, phone wiped.
The mail you got was just a standard text. They wipe anything and everything, even if not necessary.

Either they will send you another refurbished unit from a previous service, or when they swap your mobo they have to use another eMMC module as standard procedure so they can send it back faster. Essentially if you don't get a wiped out switch you got lucky.

TX also said they were still working on the Xbox. Don't count chickens until they hatch.

Lol thanks for scaring me boys haha. well they repaired said issue this morning they said and its due to arrive here tomorrow, i also noticed it was 3rd party repair centre which nintendo use called https://www.repairtech.co.uk/ I doubt a mobo replacement as that would change serial as well right ? but hey lets see tomorrow and il update you all.

Mb they just replaced your eMMC? Or replaced motherboard + eMMC.

They'd change the mobo serial, not the unit's. You'd never know unless you cracked it open and looked at what numbers are on the mob vs. previously.

Hum. Possibly, good point.

Hey so i was gonna ask anyway seen as you mentioned emmc

Are the emmc boards bound to the sytem ?

Cause im sure that if i used my full emmc backup on a new emmc board which u can buy online btw and just plug it in it should work, but i did notice a serial for the emmc board one time any links on info about the pairing of emmc to system board ?

UPDATE

so i recieved my switch back this morning and the sleep issue has been fixed
I am able to get into hekate payload bootloader and im already backing stuff up
So They didnt patch or use patched board ....
once my backup is complete and i get back into the menus il look at the serial in system and see if its changed...
