Hello im little new to the switch hacking scene. I bought the SX OS a couple of days ago and i was able to dump my cartridge of loz: botw and play the backup perfectly on with the sx os. However, i've been trying to get other backups as well and the only one that i have found that has worked for me is The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth Plus. I am aware that you need to put the .xci onto the root of the sd card but when i go to the loader they are just blank covers with an unkown publisher. When i try to launch it just says that the game card could not be read. Some games i have tried are cave story plus and owlboy, both of which do not work. Also i'dlike to note that .nsp files do not install either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

maybe a fake 16Gb microsd disguised as a 64Gb or 128GB?
you probably already used up all the real space with zelda 15GB+issac less than 1 GB

delete zelda and copy 5 small games to it then all 5 games should work

Test your sd: backup everything, format it and follow
i tried this earlier and i didnt backup my sd card. realizing this seconds after i pressed wrtie + verify, i cancelled it. now the write + verify button is greyed out. is there anyway i can reset it? it says there is only 67 MBytes tested

You may need to reformat your SD card and start over. Just copy what you have on there to your PC and then put back in your switch and format it with the switch. Then put it back in your PC and copy everything over.

Also rename your games so they dont have any special characters in the xci filename. Make them short and sweet.

Check there are not any strange characters in the filename. I had an issue with Crash Bandicoot which had a trademark symbol in the filename when downloaded. The SD card filesystem or SX OS doesn’t like it and wouldn’t load the XCI for me.

sd card corrupted. or game download corrupted. redownload. change sd card. update to latest sx os.

wait it said that my sd card was actually 64gb. so shouldn't the games i put on it work? unless i'm reading it wrong and it's actually 32gb cause in total i used 33gb which still makes no sense. cause i'm pretty sure i had enough space for owl boy but it still didn't load correctly.

Are you using FW 5.1+? Does your FW match the minimum for the game you're trying to boot? Latest SX OS?

yes im using firmware 5.1.0 and SX OS v1.4. how can i tell what fw is required by the game?

You can't tell via the software, you'd have to look online. But I'm using 5.1 with no issues since SX release. Maybe you need to re-copy the files. Seems they haven't been copied correctly. Are you copying files from a Mac? Macs have been known to mess up Switch SD cards by incorrectly toggling the archive bit I believe. You can remedy this with Hekate.

yeah feelsbadman i just contacted the seller from ebay. strange that they have positive reviews
Buying SD card from Ebay = that's where you made a mistake.
SD cards should only ever be bought in a known big name store like Best Buy. And buy known good brands only. That's your safest option to not get a fake.

idk if thisll help but here is what i have in the folder

Nah it looks right. Remove the Astmosphere files and modules and see what happens. Remember, SX has a lot of stolen code in it, you never know what will interfere.

ive deleted every .xci file off of the sd card and put a single .xci file on there (which was about 620 mb, so that there was more than enough space on the sd card) and it still wouldntload. im starting to think that its the sd card that is at fault. will be grabbing another one. will keeps you guys updated.

ok so i figured out something. i moved another .xci file that i have never touched onto the sd card and it was able to load.
i came up with this conclusion: i had a fake sd card and loaded it up with .xci files. when it filled to its actual limit (32gb for me), any games transferred afterwards will cause that file to be corrupted and you will have to download it again. i havent done enough testing to confirm that this is what is actually happening but i am going to get other .xci files and test them out.
if anyone else is having this problem i suggest that you check if your sd card is real or fake. then remember what .xci files you installed first and which ones you installed after youve reached the actual limit. then download those files again.
