Hi guys,

As I am about to use CWF on my Switch, I have been looking for a RCM jig lately.

I know that the safest option is spare Joy-Con mod, but currently this is not really the way I could go (unemployed at the moment).

Therefore I have been looking for the jig that resembles Joy-Con rail the best.
TX SX Pro jig seems like good one, but I didn't found a way to buy it separately from SX Pro.

And then I found this one: http://www.xkit.xyz/rcmclip/
I would like to hear your opinion.
It is available on eBay/Aliexpress for 2-3$ + shipping.

I don't want this thread to turn into discussion of how paperclip/tinfoil/bending/screwdriver/etc is safe and reliable to use.
What I want is jig that doesn't damage Joy-Con slot pins.

Thank you.

EDIT:
The jig has arrived (red one). In a meantime I bought TX's jig (black one).
This jig looks and feels a lot more tender and easier on Joy-Con slot compared to TX's jig.
Although the click sound can also be heard when inserting red jig, it sounds a lot more tender than inserting TX's jig.

just dont make it too thick tho.
otherwise joycon can not detect by the console

Thanks for the quick answer, but...

You really only need it to work once.

After you can just use AutoRCM

I wish I had just used tin foil instead of paying 8 bucks for a jig

Buy a replacemwnt joycon raíl on eBay for less than 10€, solder the two points con the little circuit and done. If you dont want to solder use tinfoil and tape to attach the two points.

That way you have a perfect fit jig that wont destroy your pins.

TX jig is based on fail0verflow jig, if you can print it and use micro USB part in it, it will be good, i don't know why no one is selling them, yes they are harder to make, but should be more expensive.

That rcm jig you talking about looks high quality.

Holy poop that thing looks fantastic! Get that thing!

Actually just took a look around that site. Looks like they aren't in production or available at retail in some fashion. Now that is a damn shame.

Looks very good since this is not using paperclip this will not wear the connection points

There is strange rcm loader on this side wondering if it is same as TX one

The SX jig is sold separately, at least you can buy one in Germany from some site for a little less than 5,90€ and it's very good quality-wise. Thin wire, works perfectly when only slid in lightly. I had a cheap ebay jig with paperclip and it was bullshit, I had to really ram it down the rail and force it to keep down to trigger RCM. SX one just sits in the rail lightly and that's enough

Like I wrote in my first post, you can order it from eBay or Aliexpress. Just search RCM Clip.

This is really the best option if you dont want any damage to your switch. AutoRCM works fine if you understand how it works and you dont mind having to launch a payload every single time you turn on your switch. Personally i dont use it because i rarely boot CFW and i dont want to have to deal with battery issues.

not much difference between all those jigs.
3d printed plastic. can't expect too much from it.

There IS a difference between jigs.

The purpose of the plastic is to prevent user from destroying their Joy-Con slots.
I'm speaking of 1/10 of a millimeter precision.
The plastic should be made that way so the wire should only touch the pins.
If it is too short, than there will be no short circuit at all. If it is too long than the wire can wear off the pins over time and ultimately destroy them.

The wire should not cut and should not wear off Joy-Con slot pins. Which means it should be curved at the same angle as pins are.
Also it should be made of soft metal like cooper or ideally it should be gold plated.
I have seen many jigs that use straight steel wire, this is good example how not to make jig.
