Hey guys, just a simple question.

I know there's not much info about what causes a ban, but will playing a trimmed xci increase the risk of bans or it's the same as playing a full-size xci?

Anyone got info on that? I'm usin SX OS 1.3 in airplane mode.

SX OS alone will eventually get you banned. No point in staying offline
Can't get banned if you don't connect to the internet

So far, can only confirm one case of someone being banned for using trimmed .XCI with SX OS. That user also used nx-dreport on 5.X which is not considered safe, but there's also the chances that you'll be banned for using SX OS so a trimmed dump may not hamper or help your chances with what we know so far.

because you can still boot ofw for legit online use?

if you load tx offline they can still detect that it was loaded in ofw
6 users in fact have already been hit by the ban hammer this way (unless you want to blame their use of homebrew instead)

i dont think you will get banned if you stay offline.make no sense to me.

It makes complete sense if you don't assume the Switch can log vital ban-worthy data while your running SX OS in CFW mode

i am going to running my switch offline, and fuck nintendo they can get me banned offline, and you know something? i will have more consoles in hand if not i will buy more and more and more.

Nintendo reserves the right to ban you for violating THEIR Terms of Service which you agree to when you buy the console, but I don't think they mind if you buy more of their consoles so you do you.

Make a NAND backup before doing anything you shouldn't be doing, stay offline. Later on restore that clean NAND backup in a few months time (before updating your firmware version) when you can have an Emunand for hacks that stays offline and a clean Sysnand for playing online. It should be possible to have the best of both worlds on one console eventually without getting banned.

That's the thing, THEIR terms, I wonder if they are pissed that it's legal to mod your own consoles now, I'd rather do that than send it into Nintendo just to get some ones used one instead.

Also Switch can still go online, just not on Nintendo servers and I do not believe Nintendo has the right to totally ban your Switch from going online considering the WiFi chip and such is inside the Switch itself and since Nintendos Eshop is a website and so on, whether Nintendo bans your IP or not, there are other ways of getting into the Web applet by creating a server back end, which hackers have been doing for a very long time with stuff.

Also I would say one is banned from Nintendos online servers but hackers can always create an alternative like Xlink Kai or custom servers.

World of Warcraft used to be famous for hackers creating custom servers cause of some dispute between them and Blizzard, so it can very well happen, it will just take time.

Y'all gonna get banned at some point, like the last random wave on 3ds, but the cost of new Switch (Tablet) is equal the cost of 3 games or less so meh.
