Brain damage?
No, it's called being clever. True pirates don't pay for anything except the console; not even for a dongle. (AKA You are dumb if you buy SX)

(ps: this post is a joke)

Dang I didn't know they stole code. I'm gonna use atmosphere now to load my backups and homebrew instead. Oh wait...
As an end user, you've got a lot worse stuff to worry about in SX OS - like the brick code, or the sketchy developers, or the extremely high system ban risk...

Just finished playing odyssey, already played BOTW, starting DK soon actually. Not being a poor neckbeard living in their parent's basement is GREAT!

Going back to the actual topic, I don't think anyone should be too surprised by this. I only hope we see ReSwitched actually take some action over this, and TX gets what's coming to them.
Not at all, I think anyone thats been following along from the start knew this. That's why KTemkin and others could call it from the day it was announced. There's no way they couldve done all the RE-ing of a independent exploit chain AND develop a cfw AND a backup loader in the time that (what was) a quite well orginzed community research effort could do the same. They likely had a team of maybe 5 ppl or ten tops I bet. Where there was probably 30 security researchers and engineers doing the same task.

And the other thing is, why would they. Everyone knows that they dont give a shit about licenses or communit5y morals. Why reinvent the wheel, when its laying out on the lawn for the taking. With bows on it even.

Seems like there will never be a GBATemp thread without at least two people fighting...
Most of the "fighting" in this thread is just TX fans saying "wow who cares lol i get to pirate games"....

Still, it's strange how quickly any thread about the Switch devolves here.

Please report bad posts you see, will make our job easier.
Honestly, this type of thread doesn't seem very productive. I can see why you would want to keep it open because GBATemp is neutral about ReSwitched and TX, but this is GBATemp, you really expect people to have a fair and conducive discussion on this?

...Reporting posts it is, then.

Actually it's licensed under gpl v2, meaning legally if they use the code they have to keep at least the open source parts they use/modify known and publicly available.
They also stated in the past that they haven't been stealing the work of the open source devs, meaning they are also lying to their userbase
You didn't bother to read any of the posts below mine before posting this did you?

If people can stay on topic rather than fighting it might be end up being a constructive thread.

Here's an actual on-topic question: is there any kind of precedent for something like this? Would ReSwitched be able to go after TX successfully with this information?
