ROM Hack [WIP] MHXX English Patch Extended

Hello fellow hunters!

I would like to formally introduce my continuation of team Dasding's Monster Hunter XX
English translation patch!

This patch will will be a FULL translation ( dialogue, descriptions, and all that jazz )

Please note:
This patch will ONLY be for the original 3ds version of Monster Hunter XX.

Please do not request links to any patches using text ripped directly from GU for Switch.
This thread is intended only for discussion of this patch.

When will this be ready?

I'll release the first version once I feel I've translated a decent enough amount,
with periodic updates until it's complete.

Can I use this on the Switch version?

See above.

Will all the dialogue from Gen be exactly the same?

No, copy/pasting dialogue would be copyright infringement :/ As a result everything
will be re-translated.

Why should I use this patch over other patches that rip text directly from Generations Ultimate?

In addition to the above reason, those patches do not correct issues with fonts and text spacing
between the two separate versions ( i.e. text bleeding from dialogue boxes, blurred text ect. )
That come with simple copy/pasting of text files. This patch will be free from such issues.

Why are you doing this?

I have no life and I love Monster hunter. JK
I didn't want those who already bought the 3ds version to miss out on being
able to get the "full experience"

I don't mind translating a chunk of the npcs. But only because my skill is limited and npc dialog is easy to translate.

I'm glad someone has been working on it. I tried XX with patch but then quickly delete it and go back to Gen, just because the English texts mixed with untranslated Japanese texts annoys me so much.

I'd like to support your work by translating from english to german . But one thing said: I've never translated any game. But I'm sure we can find a workaround for this.

Oh thank you so very much for all that you're doing.

Quite honestly I was afraid the Western MHXX community was just going to die out thanks to the release of MHGU on switch. It sucks major ass that the 3DS didn't get any love when it came to the release of MHGU in the west, but it is what it is.

I eagerly await with abated breath for your release of the first version of the Full Translation Patch.

Now that Generations Ultimate is out on the Switch can the text files in the game be used to help speed up this translation? Just wondering.
