RequirementsExtraction!!!Packing!!!Video

    1. Xenoverse Mod Tools
    2. Extracted Copy of Xenoverse 2s RomFS(If using decr.bat replace --romfs with --romfsdir)
    3. LayeredFS Working(Other tutorials available for this)

    1. Once you have downloaded the tools you can begin to extract your files.
    2. Move your Xenoverse mod tools to where you extracted your Xenoverse 2 ROMFS files(Data.cpk, etc, etc)
    3. You can now run "1-EXTRACT_ALL(no_decompression).bat"
    4. Wait because it takes a while
    5. Once everthing is extracted, make a new folder called data1root
    6. Inside that folder you will add your mods(XV2 mods not working at this time. I will update tutorial when that's ready)
    7. Now we begin packing files back.

    1. Now that we are here its time to begin the packing process.
    2. Open up CPKTools.exe
    3. Select your datapath(Thats the data1root folder)
    4. Set your save path to Wherever/data1.cpk
    5. The only thing you will change other than that is Data Align
    6. Data Alignment is set to 512
    7. Click build.
    8. Once completed you will have your Data1.cpk filled with your mod goodies.
    9. Now just move it to your SD card in the atmosphere/title/[XENOVERSE2TITLEID]/romfs/
    10. Its done

  1. Video Tutorial for those who can't read

As you can see the tutorial is pretty straight forward. I will come back through and add pictures and whatnot later on.

If you have any questions just post them.

Thanks for this! Didn't think it would've been so simple! BTW do you think x2m type mods will ever be supported? Just asking for your opinion here.

I believe he meant ".x2m" mods wont work so any mod that doesnt require an .x2m file will work.

How I extract my RomFS if I had a digital copy?
Realistically if your not modifying files yourself or your not using X2M(Currently trying to figure this out) you don't have to extract them. I was only trying to make the tutorial as concise as possible. Watch the video im making when im done and you will see what i mean about not needing to use them.

to get x2m's to work, for example new character mods, could you just install the mod on pc then grab the files the mod makes in the data folder? and replace a current character or something? love the tutorial, nice work, i also have the digital version so i'll wait for the video too. :)

So it should look like
data1root->data->mods
and you use data1root as the root directory for CPKTools
So that it packs everything inside data1root as data->blah blah

ah that makes more sense. i put it as data1root>chara>HUM>mods instead of having the data folder before that
edit: can confirm its working now

I found out you can edit the .bat to only extract specific files in the data.cpk instead of the whole thing. However, I tried editing a super soul for stuff like god mode and super armor and I repacked it all to data1.cpk but it didnt work.

so do only character appearance mods work right now? far are as I have tried none of the super soul mods work when I pack them into data1.cpk. I even managed to get the Switch version file for the super souls without extracting the entire data.cpk then I tried editing it with the tool then after saving some god mode stuff for one super soul I followed the instructions and put it in the right subfolders in data1root -> data etc etc then packed it into data1.cpk and then copied that to /atmosphere/titles/010078D000F88000/romfs/
nope. didn't work.
One interesting thing to note is when I tried opening the super soul names and info files in the super soul editor it didn't read them properly and failed to display the names and info for super souls. perhaps the super souls file is different and needs a proper tool that accounts for different mapping of where the super souls are in the file. or perhaps like you mentioned the base game data of XV2 Switch is old and needs an older version of the editor to work.

so apparently the pro evolution soccer cpk archive explorer is able to open and read the data.cpk file and show all its contents in blocks lol
I am hoping to find a version of the tool that actually allows importing files and then replacing existing files inside the cpk file so the process of dumping and repacking the entire data.cpk archive can be skipped. it looks like it's already capable of that but unfortunately it's built for pro evolution soccer game files editing and not necessarily importing any file and replacing an existing file with the same filename.
