Oh, so it's in the save file. Guess I just need to wait until the Power Saves version of the save file to come up..
If you just want to run homebrew and you don't have any other exploits ready, then SteelMiner is still an option.

Most threads I see about here are utterly useless. Quite frankly there are some ppl out there that dont wanna touch cfw for who the hell knows what kind of messed up reason they have.
I'm sure there are a lot of people running cfw who aren't having any problems at all, but there are already plenty of posts in this thread alone from people who are having mysterious problems with cfw.

99% of which are user error.
and most of that is users not saying what they done. Having us run around, getting no where, till they finally mess up and say something. To which we end up wasting potential hours trying to fix something that was screwed from the beginning.

My WiFi is a strong full-ping Shaw Internet router. And the battery is charged well.

Following up, any luck for today?

Hi! Anyone knows if RPGhax is still working on 11.7?

No confirmation yet. Doesn't look like Nintendo patched any hax. Would you like to be the first to try and claim credit?

I have problem with oothax ("an error has occured" message), do I need another Zelda hack save for 11.7 update?

Check post #42 through 45. Drop in a new payload.

I've already tried updating just the payload, and it Doesn't work the Payload is in the OOTHax Save file apparently.

So unfortunately for me, I'm stuck waiting for the Powersaves version of the new save file to pop up since I have no other entry point to HBL...

Well, time to move onto greener pastures.

You got $2 you're willing to spend on eShop to get full access CFW? If so, you're just in luck! Nintendo eshop funds can be purchasable through gift cards at Best Buy, Walmart, and Target.

If you don't believe in spending even $0.01, there free homebrew through steelminer.

OOF. It doesn't do anything.

Try it again through Recovery Mode.
  • If if fails then and there, really consider using a different Internet source.
  • If update does not work at home but at the other place, you got some modem or router troubleshooting to do later. (ie, Firewall, Shaw pulling a fast one)
  • If update still fails at a secondary Internet, consider backing up game saves with Checkpoint/JKSM, your entire SD card, and current v11.6 NAND. Do a safe SysNAND restore in GodMode9 (not with the current NAND.bin you made but the one you should have made when you first installed CFW).
The third bulletin is to check if updating to v11.7 is possible with a known working, pristine NAND image. If it works, try SysNAND restoring your v11.6 NAND and try updating again to v11.7. Should the update fail yet again, you're left with the awful option of going back to original NAND > update to v11.7 > reinstall all your games & restore game saves with the save manager.

edit - opps, here's info on teh Recovery mode : for bottom combo . https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/Recovery_Mode

There is a failsafe mode which Ninty uses to fix bricked systems that relies on booting a specially formatted DS mode cart. That combined with the sighax bootrom flaw, which is what makes boot9strap work, means it is possible to modify a DS flash cart to run our own "recovery" software which does not depend on anything on the NAND (built in storage). That is called ntrboot and is something that can't be patched.

Thus, it is possible to back up and restore the NAND data without needing custom firmware or anything. Not only that, but it is quite possible to have a mostly working 3ds system (aside from gba and ds mode software) even if the NAND chip was physically removed.

I wonder where I could find a tutorial for down grading your 3DS?

You install cfw and then install the CIAs for the lower version.

Unless you mean downgrading without CFW. You can't do that, because 11.4+'s NATIVE_FIRM requires 11.4 or higher to be installed, and 11.4 patched out downgrading.

You can either do a ctrtransfer by booting godmode9 with your ntrboot cart or you can install Luma. However unless you are making a frankenfirmware emunand for Gateway or are a developer who needs to test things on older firmware versions there is really no point to downgrading.

That kind of downgrading requires Luma CFW as neither Rei-Six or Cakes have the patch necessary to enable downgrading. As for downgrading without CFW it can be done via ctrtransfer using a ntrboot cart and godmode9.

I don't have a ntrboot cart. So it's not possible without?

I don't want to downgrade or nothing, I was just curious for in case NIntendo updates again in the future and this time it patches the CFW stuff.
