ive been banned

Waited a year on 3.0.0, updated to 5.1 to use layered fs, and 2 days in, banned.

Got a 2nd console tho, expect bans when you are hacking consoles boys.

I got banned on a console I picked up 2 days ago at Best Buy. Still within return period - going to be returning it right back to Nintendo, so they can sincerely go and fuck themselves

Odd, mines still fine. A few updates done whilst on SXOS and I can still access eshop no probs

for now
obviously everyone is not getting banned at the same time

I'm waiting for the first reports of people getting banned by updating backups while on ofw. I can't believe that doesn't leave a log somewhere to come bite you in the ass.

The only reason why I see this as not happening (for the moment) is actual cert data for the games used on a system isnt stored or shown when a game isn't actively being played or in the catdrige slot. (By emulation in sx os or physical)

Yes I know certs are connected to gold points, but to redeem them you would still need to have the cart currently in the system, I guess this is to read the cert on the catridge and then mark it as being reedemed for the points.

If cert data for past games played aren't logged then their shouldn't be a way for Nintendo to determine that the game icon(data) stored from your system is from a backup while you attempt to update in ofw.

It could also be that they simply do not check the cert data for games when they're not active in your slot (emulated or physical) or when trying to grab an update.

That's a really bad move. Returning consoles will be sold as used to the next customer. And the one, who will buy this, gets a banned console because of people like you. Irresponsible!

And based on the last two people to confirm bans , both have used layeredfs. One also having used sx OS.

Again showing that layeredfs and it's errors are the most likely suspect for these bans occurring.

We need a PSA in the news section telling everyone to stop using layeredfs immediately. (Even though it's probably too late for most who already have)

I updated my Dumps yesterday by installing them with SX OS offline, then deleting my Logs with Hekate and finally boot OFW and update the Game Icons with the + Button and still no ban yet. But we will see...

This is exactly what I do as well. I haven't tried to go online, so I wouldn't know if I'm banned though.

[i used HB menu. played some zelda solarus, and gameboy games, bothing more fancy.

had aome errors pop up when 5.1 wasnt fully supported.

still no ban... and god i hope i dont get it, i do enjoy playing fortnite on the switch....

Checked again and still ok. If I get a ban it’s not a problem as local multiplayer is more my jam anyways

The console should go through a refurb before it's sold on shelves, personal data is on the device when returned. Either Nintendo will get the product back, or a refubisher will determine a problem with the console and return it to Nintendo.

Cry me a river about terms and conditions. Manufacturers like Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo have ILLEGALLY prevented consoles from being opened and modified for YEARS - which is against consumer TERMS OF SERVICE. Do they give any fucks? No. Neither do fucking I.
