hope this help out others.. I am wondering though, if anyone has thought of this.. even when you are offline when you boot to SX OS and load a backup game for the very first time, Nintendo knows right away that there is an update.. how can this be? your offline and its the first time you ever booted that game.. does this means Nintendo is pushing update info to our devices even though we dont have that game? Any thoughts on this?
Some games require a day 0 update to run. Like LA Noire.

I appreciate it when other people make posts to actually try to help the community instead of just asking for handholding, so thanks. I'm not banned but here's my info so that it might help determine what triggered all the bans:

  • Banned: NO
  • Unchecked "Send Errors" in Menu: NO
  • SX OS Used offline: YES
  • SX OS used online: YES - for activation of license, not to download updates.
  • Played with SX Backups online: NO
  • Layered FS Used offline: NO
  • Layered FS Used online: NO
  • Played with Layered FS Injects online: NO
  • Does the Eshop work: YES
  • Backups updated with what Firmware? OFW
I just played splatoon 2 original in ofw online this morning, so seems like i am still good (for now at least)
I have a question for you, you are using the sx pro right? Or sx os?

i get that for LA noire because the cartridge doesnt have the whole game on it but for other games, for the Switch to prompt you for an update when you are OFFLINE and first time you ever booted the game, it already knows there is an update? seems fishy to me.

I think this "we have a update" thing is like this:

There is a database with games and theire updates on your switch. So everytime you go online this database get an update. Even if you do not own the game (yet) it updates the database. And when you finally after some time get the game and even you are offline - the switch will check this database - will of course know there is an update and informs you.

That is not proven or so - thats only my personal thoughts about this. I would do it that way...

Punderino, have you got the game to work though? All reports I've seen and my personal tests show not even the update helps the game run. Please let me know as this could be good information if you did get the game to run in OX OS.

I've been playing it with LayeredFS, haven't tried in SX OS.

I've been playing backups online since SX OS went live, and no ban yet. I think what I'm doing differently than others though is, I went to gamestop tuesday morning when they opened, bought splatoon 2 and Arms 'used', dumped them with certs, returned them, been playing with em ever since. I'm fairly certain I'll be done with these games by the time someone purchases these games again from the same gamestop.

I was wondering about this.
What happens with the games that wont come complete in the cartridge?
What if you dont want to update firm or are trying to aboid connecting to the internet?
Would it be possible to rip the missing content?

I don't know tbh. I haven't looked into it. I'd probably just buy the game at that point.
