I play downloaded backups offline and update them on ofw. And i play my bought games like splatoon 2 or fortnite online on ofw and everything works good. I use diferrent acounts for backups and purchased games the acount for backups never was online or used in ofw

To protect the online ecosystem from cheaters it is perfectly reasonable for Nintendo to ban users for piracy and other modification.

HB itself should be fine, we are talking about online.
the fuck you said modified consoles nothing about cheating and a better system would be group all the hackers together, give them a taste of their own medicine

and anyway good cheat systems dont ban you they stop you from playing online while hacking so you can still purchase more content banning makes no sense you should only be banned for piracy but even that should be revokable with purchase of a legitimate game

Has this actually been thoroughly tested?

Has anyone who is using their own dumps faced this implication? So many unknowns..

No it has not, but based on SciresM's post and discussion about this in Reswitched discord it seems "safer" in terms of the cart specific crypto. If the loader shows the cart as if it inserted into Switch Nintendo would need to detect CFW to ban.

I guess people who use Gamefly are going to find a lot of banned Splatoon 2 carts. I just hope Nintendo only bans the cart, and not the entire console.

My theory is Nintendo is able to detect both cert of cartridge and console, within infamous ''double check'':

-detect and ban modded switches;
-detect and ban private dumped roms with same cert.

airplane mode must be always activated, don't even try to connect with dumped roms or cfw.

Used games r not gonna plummet ,First of all what nintendo is looking for.
Is to see if id of certain game cart is all playing at same time ,If so that cart gets banned.
If you own legit cart ,No more then one user have same game cert id playing online at same time.
Its humanly impossible unless your playing back up.

So game certs that are getting banned ,Is carts dumps that people upload online .
Most use thats only way it'll affect used game market ,So private dumps should be kept private imho .
People use scene releases ,Cuz if people upload private personal dumps to public
This is only way the used game market will be affected imho.
Why its so important noone shares ,Private dumps with community Let the scene do it.

Seems you'll be fine if you play offline with dumps, legit games online. If it's that big of a deal getting banned for people then just buy another Switch tablet for cheap on ebay. Ebay usually has 15%-20% coupons for everything on the website every month or so.

Maybe the cart's cert gets banned when used on a particular switch's serial number... we need a banned online game cart that gets tested on a virgin switch online to see if ti can go back online. If this doesnt work then ebay is going to be crap to buy pre owned games.

This will be fun when we begin to find these cartridges on second hand stores
