Im having an issue trying to play one of my physical games Mario Kart 8.

As soon as I tried to load the game I get an error saying "The software was closed because an error occured"?

I tried another physical copy game being skyrim and it works fine. Tried both in cfw and stock with no luck. Can anyone help with this?

if the cart isnt loading on stock then something might be wrong with the cart or the save data

So what I can assume is, it could be potential your save data on Mario kart is corrupt. Did you use any save managers on it before? Did you do any modifications to the device other than running hekate?

Nope never tried save managers, lakka/linux or anything. Only emulators. I deleted the save data for it and it still errors. Using my GF's copy of the game on my switch gives the same result. I just tried all my switch games digital and physical; all of them work fine, except mario kart, and apparently fallout shelter too.

Odd, because the issue your stating sounds like a data corruption problem. Do you have a backup prior to this?

Yes I do, I'm going to try it now
I recommend restoring just the system partion, and see if that fixes anything. All the other partions can be left alone. As since everything else works besides those two games. And if it doesn't fix it... Then we know that it's likely save data corruption.

Restore system partition on the switch?

Has anyone confirmed that the game loading fix works on the latest firmware? The reason I ask is because we thought the sleep mode fix worked on all firmwares but it was later discovered that it was not fixed for 3.X users.

most likely corrupted save data back it up with checkpoint then delete it in system settings
Tried deleting save data for mario kart but no luck. Then tried to delete all data for it and now it gives an error every time the update for it completes
