Hey guys, recently found out there is a newer version of the game card dump tool. I dont know if it works with the new cartridges, but this one gives the option to just dump the game certificate, so you don't have to dump the whole game.
Thank you, I've been having trouble posting this with all the 502 / 504 errors. Will update the OP.

we need github repo and source so this app can be improved on. Also funny how it leaked from reswitched discord a group that bans you just talking about backups and piracy and loaders even tho it seems they all along had a cartridge dumper.
They've made tons of tools, they just don't condone piracy discussion. Also it seems their disdain for piracy is what leaves a void for groups like TX to cash in. Works out for everyone.

Why would he dump a cert for a game he already owns just to put it into a downloaded xci

Why not just dump the game he already has?
with 0.0.2 you can choose to dump only a cert so if you have a BBB dump already on hand then you don't need to dump your whole cart.

Also, you can do like people did with gateway and try to inject your cert into a different game with the space blanked out to try and fool the system.

The data about the title and info about it (might/should) be stored elsewhere in the header. I don't know about switch, but many people did this on 3DS and it worked fine unless there were two games online with the same private header at the same time. OFC, Nintendo can switch up how they read these to tie it to a cart, but generally speaking think of it more as a key proving that a cart is legitimate rather than proving that a cart has the right data in it. In this way, you can use it interchangeably so long as it doesn't conflict at the same time as another.

Weird that no other scene group started releasing games now that the new tool is confirmed to be the real deal.
