Hacking Any way to play a fake-signed save on retail disc?

Here's the story: I was really spoiled with Nintendo CFW, and I'm not really enjoying the long list of cons of staying on a lower firmware. While I'm probably not going to update, I would like the option to. I've been playing Final Fantasy XV on a fake-signed game for 20 hours or so and I'm really loving it. If I decide to update my console, I want to buy the retail version and transfer my save file over before updating. Now, again, spoiled with Nintendo CFW, so I assumed you could do this. I'm getting mixed info; some say you can do it, some say you can't.

It boils down to: what does "resigning" mean exactly and can I use it with Save Wizard for example to be able to use my save file from a fake-signed game on a retail disk? If not, is there any way? Why does it matter if the game is fake-signed? The save game data has the same title ID as the retail, so why wouldn't it work? Thanks so much for the help!

This is a good question, we would assume as long as nothing was edited in the game files prior to fake sign and as long as its from the exact CUSA as the disc had its should work fine, however I dont know any people who have done this and therefore cannot confirm it outright.

I though disc / pkg games had same CUSA but different ID based on their target origin... could be wrong.

A way to test (dont update your console yet): back up your saves via FTP (unless you can do it via ps4 official method to usb), remove your fake signed game, insert disc, try load save: if it works, greats: if it doesnt remove disc, reinstall the pkg version again, retry using saves (at least you have a back up if something happens after inserting disc and can restore saves)

Save signing uses keys and console info to make them unique and unsharable.

Resigning through save wizard cracks this (they probably somehow have keys) modifies, and resigns back to working with current FW.

Save wizard saves are signed to work with latest fw afaik, I know theyre modding GOW saves.

I'll just ask here if that's okay. I really want to install updates on that game, and I've just merged the full update pkg that's for minimum 5.05 firmware. The backup and update game ID match. Is there a way to lower the firmware requirement for the update or spoof my console? I've heard you can spoof the firmware of your console, but does it break 4.55 exploits from being able to run?

No its not possible.

Spoof only prevents updates and enables VR.

Should not merge the app and patch especially if its 5.05.

Donor disc? I dont inderstand.

You have to have legit disc of game you want to install non fake signed updates for (up to 4.55 compatible), then you can dump and fake sign them, option split=0 (merged with game) or split=2 (patch by itself).

Nevermind then, is there a good place to find older patches of games?
I've scoured all around the Internet, but the only place I can find a patch that's up to 4.55 compatible is on a site that throttles downloads pretty unusably, along with adware you have to go through.

I asked over at octolus and they said its not possible to scrape for older updates, however the updates they do have sometimes are <=4.55 for older games.

Best source for ready fpkg ones is over at h*x.

Every gamesaves include the "keystone" of the title and the keystone is generated using the passcode used to encrypt the package. As the fake signed packages don't use the original passcode (the scene default is to use 32 zeroes) a gamesave created with a fake signed package will result in an error (corrupted gamesave) when loaded by an original title.

Check a game that you have a disk of and find a copy of a pkg of the same game ID and try that.
