Doesn't Fortnite have crossplay with every single platform. Even mobile

Pretty much, just not xbone with ps4.

I don't see why people complain about the fan base, never seen them be bad in any way, then again I don't play squads or duals with randoms, or use the in game chat.

No, it cannot. it physically can not, no matter how many ninja meme spouting children there are. competitive multiplayer is a thing that floats by itself and generally the non-competitive audience has nothing to do with it, the two don't even interact. Fortnite also seems to be on every system including mobiles so it will not attract many new system buyers, as those people have a bigger interest in investing in a platform that has a big number of competitive games or use they already owned (phones).

Also, right now the reputation of the switch is that it has no games, so adding a game may even help fixing it.

well if you consider that it's cross platform it likely won't be using Nintendo servers at all

I have played a little bit of matches but its decent, the good things about this being released is
-crossplay?
-voice chat (through online app?, prefer to use discord tbh)
-bring more people to switch
-might be free to play without subscription

My cousin really likes Fortnite and it does have a toxic community. I was ok with ignoring that until I was told that I shouldn't mention it now.

It's no more toxic than most other non MMORPGs like CoD but there is absolutely no reason to ignore it or not document it. It's not like we're confronting them or at all contributing to their community.

That said if you don't play it the community will have little effect on you but it could be a reason to avoid it if you don't like that environment.

Personally I don't care either way as the game isn't my cup of tea .
