what is the difference between azif dns and crack.bargains/505k/

The DNS you can access from the user guide, and crack.bargains I think you have to type in the address everytime, I think for the 505k when you reopen the browser it goes to the last payload you activated.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Don't have a PS4, as I've been waiting for the hacking scene to advance further prior to purchasing. Would it be a good idea to buy one now, in order to avoid buying a system with new/less vulnerable firmware on it?

Depending how much you want to spend, PS4 is probably gonna be supported for couple more years before Sony move to PS5.

What I'm saying is if I wait too long to buy a PS4 will the firmware for a new system contain firmware that likely will be tougher to crack? I remember with the PS3 firmware 3.55 being the version that was tough to crack, making older systems more valuable.

It depends God of War 4 bundle was on 4.73 for some people, you have to do research on the firmware of the system you are getting. Sealed unit firmware tend to be guarantees, for used model asks for screenshot of firmware

Just curious, but what makes a firmware "rare?" Was it only needed for a specific game or something?

The Mira project was released for firmware 5.01 and 5.05, but 5.05 and 5.07 have like identical kernel binary. That why it work. 5.07 is probably rare because no one really cared about it I guess due to no games require 5.07

So I just did a quick search and couldn't find the exact wording I'm looking for.

I would like to get rid of the Update the system software to use network features nag.

I've disable automatic updates, and disable the rest mode features for it, but I still have that nag.

I doubt an update has actually been downloaded. How do I clear that nag?

EDIT: Just to clarify this update nag was resolved by switching from using http://crack.bargains/505k to Al Azif's method and locally hosting my exploits.

As I had said before I didnt actually have any updates downloaded, this was obvious by checking the update folder, I still had a nag though.
Setting my DNS to my local one, and the one provided in @KiiWii's guide resolved the update nag.

If it was a clean new setup system you can reinitialize, if you are on 5.05 I think you can FTP into the console and delete the file it downloaded.

The video explains where the updates are stored at.

The first thing I remember doing when HEN was released for 4.05 was deleting an update over FTP, but I can't recall where exactly it was.. I'm sure someone will know.

So I ftp'd in and there is NOT an update file, just my update blocker folders. Do I need to set up a DNS or something to block the nag?

From this thread it says to delete all the files in the update folder, DNS doesn't stop the update nag, so you either have to FTP in and delete all the file in that folder or reinitialize the ps4 as in factory resetting the console to stock setup.

So what can you actually do with this:

1. can you run steam and dolphin on linux for example like I have seen in some youtube videos?
2. Can you play ps2 games with this.

Lastly since this is not cfw, can I still play online and update if I want to ofw in the future for something like death stranding?
I’m not sure about the first one but yes ps2 games work if fpkg, I played need for speed undergroun, wwe 2010 and street fighter 2 EX3
There is no online access if you want to use this, as you can’t be on psn on older firmwares

Hello guys,
Can somebody test FTPS4 1.3? mine doesn't work (i checked that i input everything correctly), payload is loaded.
EDIT: restarted PS4 ran HWN+Mira and than FTP and it worked.

i guess im stuck with this hdd till a higher firmware gets hacked
i wanted to replace the hdd but that will need the 5.07 pup which doesnt exist

Maybe (MAYBE), as the 5.05 and 5.07 are practically the same, you could use the 5.05 one, but I don't think so, and probably the system ask for the follow to the 5.07.

The firmware only ever came preinstalled onto a small number of consoles. Nobody even knew 5.07 existed until reports started appearing on the internet. It cannot be downloaded and does not come with any game. Nobody can install it, it just comes preinstalled with some machines.

Am I right in thinking that a save for a game I have on disc wouldn't work with the same game if I installed it from a fpkg? Think I've read that here in the past.
