Super Nintendo game Return of Double Dragon to release this July

$49.99? Is that really necessary? Should at least come with a ROM for that price. It's 2018, but even now, the legacy of the Super Nintendo lives on. A once Japan-exclusive game--Return of Double Dragon--will be finally making its way west, 26 years after it originally released for the Super Famicom. Technically, English-speaking audiences did see a release of this game, in the form of Super Double Dragon, but it was drastically different from the Japanese version, lacking extra attacks and bonuses stages, as well as AI changes. The game will launch on July 19, offering local co-op and an official English translation. It'll cost $49.99 for the cartridge, which will work on original Super Nintendo hardware.

IDK where you're buying reproductions from, but most of the ones I've picked up were closer to $20. Used originals for $20 to $40, except for a few which are $200+.This is so much better than the Mega Man X and Mega Man 2 official anniversary re-releases, which went for a ridiculous 100 USD each. This game's not too expensive IMO, since it's probably around the average price you would pay for a game repro.
When SNES games came out new, they were $60-$90.$49.99? Is that really necessary? Should at least come with a ROM for that price.
That's rather poor logic. They created these games, not found in a warehouse and only 20 were made and only 2 are left. You're paying full price for a game that would go for a few bucks at a retro shop. Their "original" price doesn't matter. When SNES games came out new, they were $60-$90.
And that was in 90's prices which are closer now to $100-$140.
So yeah, getting the games for essentially half off isn't bad at all.
