Ok here is an unofficial build. Remember this is not a finished project, OP is just sharing his progress with us :)
Extract this archive. There is a file inside this archive that ends in .img, that is the file you flash, not this .img.gz file.
Load the .img into Etcher.
Pop your SD card in and select it in etcher. It will wipe everything and all partitions on your card. Once it flashes, safely eject the "disk", and boot it with Painless Linx (not shofel2). Boot it first, dont stick it back in and try to add roms, it will break it.
Once it boots, it will create the file system and expand the size. After you shut it down, THEN you can add files into the SD card (the large partition only)

Yes, the battery desync is there. No sound doesn't work. Yes, many cores work, even PPSSPP. I recommend charging your battery to 100% in Horizon (the regular Switch OS) , then boot into RCM and linux, leaving the charger plugged in. When done, Shut Down, leave plugged in (make sure it is shut down by hold the power button at least 12 full seconds). 5 minutes later, boot into Horizon. Might not work for everyone, but it's your highest chance of not having to unplug the battery.

Remember, this is an unofficial build, and is unsupported by me, OP, or anyone.

Removed.

Thanks to @natinusala for doing this and all his hard work. we appreciate it! :D

What's new : joystick support, Wi-Fi GUI, shitty touchscreen

edit : you did pull my latest commit, right ?

Wish I had another sd card to test this. I already have a 256 gb one with a fat32 partion and an ext4 partion for Switch/linux, but i don't want to have to redownload all my games and have everything wiped after the etcher flash.
Cool stuff though, and nice progress!

What am I doing wrong. Used etcher to copy lakka, however there is now only about 170mb left on the micro sd card. My micro sd card is 16GB and if I format the remaining sd it corrupts everything.

I think the image flash makes a small fat32 partition and another partition but it is ext4, windows (and i think max) will not be able to recognize the ext4 partition so only the smaller fat32 partition will be seen by the OS.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

after the flash, plug the sd card back into your switch, I'm pretty sure it should work even if it gives you errors in windows/mac (since they won't be able to recognize the ext4 partition)

The problem is I cant test any games because I only have about 170mb.

Wow, you people don't even try to read.

Hey @natinusala , do you know why the Analog Stick also controls the D-Pad?
I've tried Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep on PPSSPP and when I use the Analog Stick, I also scroll through the skills (which should only happen when I use the D-Pad normally)

It's the analog to dpad feature of RetroArch. Cores should be aware of this and not behave like shit. I'll remove it for the next release, it doesn't work in the menus anyway. In the meantime, you can disable it in input settings (might need to enable advanced settings to see it).
