If debugging errors are sent to Nintendo (or checked from time to time in the device), these kind of things are normal to happen. I guess next step for the scene is to block this to happen. And it's normal that people that has been longer putting probes and code in uncomfortable cavities of the device will be the first ones to fall.

I just hope this problem is tacked soon. I don't want Switch's scene reduced to just piracy...

Also, Nintendo took its time to start banning. I guess they don't want to give hints of what makes you banned.

This is the console cert I've been using for *all* CDN exploration since June of last year. I'm not surprised in the slightest, tons and tons of invalid requests have been sent from this one. I also updated the console to 5.0.1 when that released.

Me, personally, I don't see any reason to worry about while CDN is left alone.

Someone in a Splatoon 2 group on Facebook posted this:

"Aye Nintendo is starting to ban people for using their online services while hacking and injecting consoles with restricted or malicious content.
Good on them! Play stupid games, win stupid prizes."

Glad to see them taking a stand against game hackers, but I hope it doesn't hurt CFW users who don't hack in their games.

You'll all get banned if you play online
I have zero interest in Nintendo online so I don't even care

So ironic
All the anti piracy warriors are getting banned before pirates lol

online is not gay
what is this 2007?

On the switch I agree, I don't use online. The eShop how ever is a different story.

@SciresM Can you confirm this has blocked your access to the eShop (including future purchase and downloading current purchases) / game Updates on the banned switch it's self ?

Shiny Quagmire is banned from even accessing the eShop to purchase the Octo Expansion for Splatoon 2. Wouldn't that meant the ban blocks access to the eShop too?

That's shit. I mean in the future, I assume this could be circumvented by installing DLC/ Updates like the Wiiu & 3DS did.

Depending how Nintendo respond to emuNAND (decetions & bans), this might be the only way eventually.

From the two console's that have been banned both used the CDN, that seems like the common link.

I'd be kind of surprised and impressed if Nintendo actually has a system in place for dealing with the impending shitstorm before it even gets started. That is if these are not truly just isolated incidents revolving around special circumstances, but who can really say at this point.

This story has spread to other outlets, and all the troglodytes are coming out of the woodwork praising Nintendo for banning "cheaters". It's made me realize what a niche homebrew is, because the rest of the world is woefully ignorant on the subject.
Agreed. I bet some of these people rooted their phones or their tablets as well. I mean if you want custom themes for your Switch, you're going to have to hack your console because I don't see Nintendo planning on implementing them.

People justify rooting because the philosophy behind Android, much like its foundation's (Linux), is user freedom. This precedent is set by Google, which I feel creates a fallacy; "x is ok because x's parent company says so, which I agree with, but y is doing the same thing, but it's bad that y is doing the same thing because y's parent company said so, which I also agree with". I've just come to the conclusion that the normie Nintendo fanboys are just gullible manchildren.

DLC is extremely easy for them to cross-check, and Octo expansion is for a predominantly online multiplayer game. May as well call them up and ask them to ban you.

I wasn't talking about (nor have any interest in) Splatoon, I was talking about the switch in a wider sense.

If there becomes a convenient way to acquire DLC and Updates, I Honestly wouldn't care about online.
