With Nintendo killing virtual console and locking out local save backup, I would like to stick it to them. Regarding piracy, I really don't want it possible until at least one more year. Easy piracy is going to kill the small indie drive to develop for the system.

They are bringing a better emulation service with online and making a paid save backups

Emulating ilegally has always been considered piracy. I don't think backups count as well, as you don't use code you don't own. I see it like 'LibreOffice is piracy because the bundled Office suite is paid'.
