TX has yet to give a price. Units will be on sale "By the end of the week" according to their site. If unit price is below 16$, I cant beat them on price, but that zsun can do more than their dongle can. (It can host a local DNS filter, sit between the switch and the actual wifi network, because it has dual PHYs and can do bridging, can be used as a platform for various activities against the USB port, and of course, it can act like a USB stick adapter for the SDCard slot.)

I dont mind tinkering, and I doubt it would take me more than a few hours to get a functioning device AND a how-to put together. I have gotten quite comfortable with embedded linux (from hacking my NAS to serve as a small mini-server.)
People want a clean solution. Noone cares for dns filter, bridging and such.

Reswitched simply has the mentality of not talking about products that are designed to enable piracy. I can understand that this should not be discussed in the discord.
and i get that, but idk man sometimes i feel like the homebrew community has extremely high hopes in the "kindness" in peoples hearts to not pirate things

It's flashable from the devices' built in firmware updater. I can build a "Flash me and you're done" package after doing the tinkering bro. Why so argumentative? The potential for a much cheaper alternative that can load basically any IPL you want automagically instead of just Hekate (or TX's) can be yours for just a modest investment of time. That's the point here.

This looks a lot more convenient than the free options at the moment but who knows how long support with last. I'll wait and see how things unfold

Im just saying people want plug and play and are willing to pay for that. Apparently :)

i think the fair argument here is...any one of us could drop 16 dollars for your thing, 30 dollars for TX's thing, or nothing for scires thing, but in the end we end up with the same result of what we want in a CFW, the only difference is the time we want to spend on getting to that solution

Yes, even though most don't admit it, I think the main part of the community uses Homebrew for backuploading and nothing more :P

If you mean "Choose to boot cfw" from the IPL launcher, I remind you that the IPL is open source, and I can make it skip straight to that option without need of the window quite trivially.
If you mean "Hold the power and volume button", I am really at a loss of words here. How lazy do you have to be?
If it's docked, yes. I do intend to sit in my sofa and just press power. Then again I hope SciresM manage to get exploits running for 2.X so we can boot atmosphere software wise.

TX will want to get this out a.s.a.p before atmosphere drops on us. They have obviously been mass producing their product in silence but now with the inevitable just around the corner they are going to want to cash in quickly.

Probably, that's how a lot of them actually done in the past. So it won't get blocked by the maker of said console.

Didn't ScriesM say a softmod solution will be possible up to 4.1? Don't quote me on this but i'm sure i read it somewhere. I'm just sitting put on 3.0.2.

Tempted to finally take my Switch out of it's box and start playing it.
I've kept it boxed because I didn't want to update it but seeing this works with all firmwares I might just update my Switch and start enjoying it now

Well, I don't have a super special unique usb c cable that the Switch requires. Wouldn't buying this save me like 10 dollars, that I'd have to spend on a special usb c cable, if I don't want to brick my Switch?

Guys just ask the question to the right persons : @SciresM @ktemkin should we buy or should we wait?

LOL
What do you expect to hear from them? the ones who are developing an open source cfw?
"Hey Guys, hurry up and buy TX SX before its sold out"
