You could probably make a dongle of some sort using one of those hobby boards such as "Intel Edison" to send the instructions. This should be sufficient enough, and would make it portable.

Kate's Bootrom Exploit Paired with Fusee still requires a PC to launch the payload, and the shorting every time the console reboots/power cycles making it a tethered exploit.

I could be wrong as I have not had confirmation yet from Team Xecuter, but being a long time beta tester (since the 90's) for them, I think its pretty safe to assume that the modchip itself will send the payload through a button cominbation or on/off switch of some sort which will enable it at will to boot from the SD card or extra NAND if thats the route they took. Therefor no computer required. Much better solution IMO.

But what about CFW, and those like me on OFW 3.0.0 with homebrew access? Haven't been keeping up with the scene for a little while now, but I thought CFW will first be released this summer...for 1.0.0, then others^ will follow suit in time.

Don't need TX. I'll use a pi zero or just a regular pi. It's all semi-tethered anyway. Don't let your switch die, it's simple. It'll prob be even more simple once a software based solution comes out once that happens I'll bump the thread with #IToldYaSo

But with that being said I'ma prob pick up the tx dongle for science anyway.

The actual TX dongle is literally something you can do easier and cheaper with things you already have. If you have a smart phone (in 2018? unheard of) and a USB cable, you can do exactly what TX does but easier.

Yeah I know that this is pointless and it would be a shame if those guys make a quick buck with it. I also know how much a rPi zero is but an arduino nano is even cheaper and you don't need all that stuff build on an rPi for running a simple script. What I don't know is if this payload stuff needs any decryption(haven't looked into it). But judging on the size of TXs dongle they used an one chip solution with not too much horsepower.

Would be cool to be able to use something like the usb dongles we used to hack PS3 in the early days. I think I used a Minimus AVR or something like that.

That would be nice..I still have my teensy floating around...might work but probably not as it has old usb. Something newer might though with usb 3.0

This is what i'm worried about with the switch in the future...When my battery died out on me in handheld mode..It wouldn't turn back on until it had enough power in the dock. So lets say ur battery is done for...this thing doesn't even work as A normal console anymore unless it has some charge on the battery. That's gonna be A problem in the future.
