His video hasn't really proven anything, other than what you can can do with any switch regardless in a slightly longer time with fusee gelee.
I see this as an effort to rush and try and create something to charge people with before it becomes free regardless, as the nintendo switch homebrew scene is moving incredibly rapidly. I for now would consider this an insane waste of money, as emulation is unstable and piracy non-existent. N64 emulation hasn't surfaced at all yet, not even in the insanely alpha stage, nor has a decent PS1 emulator.
Each to their own though! If you think this is a great investment as of this moment, its your money.

So they are using the exact same entry-point as everybody else. The only difference beeing that they developed a cfw with backuploading inhouse ? Give other people a few weeks when atmosphere is done and well have feature parity in some way or another...

It's really not, and you're not helping your case by being dismissive and condescending, but if that's what it takes for you to have closure in the conversation I'm okay with that.

As simple as there's not a matter of piracy, but of people taking advantage of it. There's nothing preventing loading any kind of stuff in just a matter or time with free tools. But this people just came and will make money from other people's work (because commercial games are other people's work). If there's something different between that dongle and a Raspi Zero (a part from the size), I hope someone comes and discloses it, so people can do for free whatever can do with the dongle. Just that.

Hmmm... I don't think I would have even a remote trace of a guilty conscience if I pirate a game I basically already own on the Wii U... and limited editions at it! (i.e. waiting for them to port Xenoblade X, Project Zero 5 and Tokyo Mirage Sessions ASAP!)

Not really. It just looks like a pass through USB to upload the payload to Switch and a 3D printed jig. The firmware is slightly interesting. It all depends on the price.

yeah. Its still very early though. We will have to see what all it offers on the software side.
Maybe be dual boot into android/linux. Lets see.

Conceptually I understand your point, but they did make their f-g-esque payload (that we see in the video) and they developed their game-loading software (also seen in the video). They didn't just fork and compile Atmosphere and call it a day.

Atmosphere will probably get coldboot, emunand, an FBI like app to install and unistall whatever we want so it's only a matter of time until this is obsolete.

They cut the scene at some point at the beginning of the video.

If you are referring to right after the otg is inserted. It wouldn't help their business to lie about it being untethered.

Yeah to be honest I'm not exactly sure what that's about. It seems much easier (to me at least) to just find a way to skip verification of installed titles. It looks similar to the Sky3DS almost, but that doesn't make sense because the mod isn't a fake cartridge.

Its probably remounting the cartridge drive and having it redirected to the game backup files on the SD card. That's what the PS Vita's hacking scene does (or can do).

This video does bring up a bunch of other interesting questions though.

1. Will this work on every firmware?
2. What happens if Nintendo puts out a new firmware and releases games that require the latest version? Will spoofing be possible and will it work?
3. If they're using a RCM jig, is the "soldered version" merely just a "ground pin 10" method?
4. If they have a untethered dongle for the charge port that's providing the CFW, can that CFW payload be dumped and used by everyone else here for free via one of the already available tethered methods?
5. Does the dongle itself have any data storage within that the Switch is accessing? Maybe the backup games that it's loading are not on the SD card but inside the dongle itself?
6. Maybe I'm overestimating TX, F0F, Reswitched, etc. But are we always going to have to use RCM for exploits or will we eventually get an untethered cold boot CFW that "just works" like Luma3DS and HENkaku Enso?
