Pretty conflicted now. Play this on emu with hopefully 60 fps, or get a switch and play with full translation, but 30 fps, and maybe the controls will be worse.

Isn't it still 30 on an emulator? Game was locked at 30 instead of the variable up to 60 FPS that 3U/4U had.

XX Game is 30 FPS both on 3ds and Switch. Not quite sure if its the same case for GU.

CITRA FPS counter always uses 60FPS basis even for 30FPS games.

how far is this translation project? are the item/monster material at least translated? can i play this without looking the internet all the time?

Since the MHGU has been announced, will you guys do some changes in the translation? Some items or names don't match the original MHGU. Such as Valfalk/Valtrax, Brave/Valor, etc. Thanks in advance.

Why are you reposting this?:/ There's no reason for them to edit the patch for such insignificant things and, let's be honest, Brave, Valfalk, etc. sound a lot cooler than the new names they got... If there's gonna be a new version of this, only things I think will be updated are the more recent DLCs that came out after V4 released and perhaps hunter notes, but that's all that would be worth a patch, still not necessary though.

Well that's subjective. I like the original names more actually.

Seems like the devs have gone for a long time and left this "almost" done project. Thanks to the devs anyway.

Original means the ones that came first, meaning Brave instead of Valor, Valfalk instead of Valstrax, etc., so that's what I said too, the old ones are cooler:P

I considered updating the patch when homebrew on switch was fully functional. But due to the release of an official localized version i don't see a reason to update this patch other for compatibility for eventual 3ds updates ;)

Here you are, I think you left the scene. Well, I understand that you agree to discontinue this project when official localized version released. But there's no localized version for 3DS. Which is sad because 3DS' is the base and Switch's is the port. This patch is the only hope to experience "MHGU" on 3DS.

I'm just not very active and busy with other stuff ;) Well if you define "experiencing" the game as reading the story and dialogue yes then the switch port is the only option. If you only care about the gameplay and just need translation for all the menus items etc then this patch should be very sufficient.

I have no right to force you to do more translations. It's your project, it's your decision. Thanks for all your effort for this patch.

Installing V4 as CIA over V3 automatically replaces V3 as the files are the same. Same if you are applying it via LayeredFS.

I remember doing this a year ago when it came out. I have to do it again after updating to the latest patch. I am currently running the mHXX patcher by silverhawke and dasding. After that is finished, do I have to do something else or am I good to go?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Confused on how to apply the Eng translation. It seems like there are two ways?

How do i update the patch?
NTR Method:
Rerun the patcher cia (no need to reinstall via QRCode)

1. luma
* assumes you have the latest game update installed
* luma game patching must be enabled
* luma v7.0.1 or newer required
- Download patch files from here
- Copy the folder "luma" onto the root of your SD card merging the contents.
- run MHXX

NTR method and luma method?

for the NTR method, I assume I run the MHXX patcher by dasding and silver, and then load NTR?

for luma method, all I do is copy luma to root of SD and then run the actual game?

never mind. i solved it by getting the cia with the latest update and the eng patch v4. much easier. should be in the op imo.

These instructions is pretty spot on.
