4 days ago I hacked a friend's 3ds (installed boot9strap) using the DSiWare system transfer method. I made a nand backup of my 3ds before the whole process and when the transfer was complete I formatted his 3ds (because it had my nnid) and then put his nnid (I also restored my nand on my 3ds).

Today I noticed that I was completely unable of accessing features like the eShop, nnid settings etc. I haven't asked him if he did something stupid on his 3ds yet because I don't want to scare him.

Is there a way I can fix this without transferring his system to mine and if not what will be lost after the transfer?
Thanks

If you don't want to risk getting banned by doing a NNID transfer the hacky way, I recommend calling Nintendo.

The part he screwed up was formatting the console with the NNID still on it. Nintendos servers still register his friends console as the one to hold his NNID. He needs to either contact nintendo and hope like hell they will do a transfer. Probably not tho as there was a dsiware transfer done and they might decline him. Or log into his friends console with his NNID and do a system transfer back to his console.

Just to clear things up, I have my nnid on my 3ds and he has his nnid on his 3ds so I dont see why I can't use mine.

What do you mean the hacky way?

If I call Nintendo what should I tell them?

If that's the case then I feel stupid that I didn't follow the guide because I wanted to save time. Although sthetix's guide on YouTube doesn't mention anything about a second system transfer.

Because NNIDs are tied to a single console on which they were created on or transferred to. It doesn't matter if your friend formatted / logged out etc. because on Nintendo's servers, he has the "ownership" of that NNID.

Never follow YT guides in 3DS hacking.

If I transfer his system to mine will that solve the problem.

The thing is that I really don't want to get involved with Nintendo as I live in Greece and I don't know how to explain this in Greek. If I decide to system transfer I will make nand backups on both systems then format both and transfer his system on mine and then restore the nands, correct?

You have the system transfer option. Just make sure your not going to transfer a N3ds console to a Old 3ds console or it wont work. If you dont want to contact nintendo at that point if your still having issues. The one option which will probably be the last one you got. Is to abandon the NNIDs and create new ones.

Yep, going full official with System Transfer. Your friend will most likely have to create a new NNID. (Or maybe even you.) (NAND backups recommended (restores only when necessary).)

First of all my system is an old 3ds and his system is an old 3ds xl. If it doesn't bother you can you please explain the system transfer method.
