I have a question about this.

The last time i turned my Switch off was because i wanted to test RCM, before that was like a year ago. Thing is, Switch can actually live without being ever turned off, so it wont be that big of a deal to get CFW going, right?

Although sleep mode can be used most of the time certain tools could require a reboot, and a lot of things will be unstable at release causing the system to crash and then force u to reboot etc, so you can't expect everything to be flawless at release.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Have they said you definitely need Puyo for the first time though? They haven't found a Puyoless way for 1.0.0? Don't want to spend $80 on it if it's moot.

Puyo will be required for softmod, there are to my knowledge no other ways to launch a exploitable web applet on 1.0.0. Fusee will obviously not require Puyo though.

Thanks, i know theres no point asking but what kind of tool would require reboot? I dont remember that many from the Wii/Wii U/3DS era.

Personally, i have no rush for CFW so i dont mind waiting till most of the apps are working "fine".

Edit: Oh, one more thing. Fusee would be able to install an EmuNAND with CFW, right? So if we get that then theres no need to get into RCM i suppose?

I can't give a clear answer, but most tools that patch certain sysmodules, updates to emunand (newer FW) and other lower level stuff can in certain instances require it.

Gonna ask again, sorry to bother you:

Atmosphere (CFW) will run of emunand, by applying temporary patches from the SD card to Horizon when you run Fusee Gelee. In other words to make CFW work you will need to go into RCM for each reboot.

There will be a point in the future when everything is stable enough to just patch NAND itself, but I doubt that will be a thing for a long time, especially when we don't know how Nintendo will be handling the situation (bans etc.)

1.0.0 can load fusee without the joycon hax as long as you have done the Puyo exploit at least once yes? So for 1.0.0 it's either Puyo once or mod the joycon?

1.0.0

For HB launcher only: Puyo once to install Fake News

For CFW: Fusee Gelee (Joyconhax) or Fake News + Pegaswitch

I saw this earlier. I couldn't remember where. But this is amazing. So close already. I might actually have to get my hands on some wire/jig nearly immediately.

Yeah, I always want more leftovers -- once you've dumped/decrypted SYSTEM, run my leftovers finding script and DM me the output :)
Hey Scires, I just got a Switch on 4.0.1. Where can I find this leftovers script so I can try to help you in this way?
