Hi,

i have successfully used a Raspberry Pi 3 with Ubuntu Mate for Fusee Gelee!!!

Setup like Ubuntu

Tadaaa!!!

(Now i will setup a button (for example Pimoroni button-shim) to run fusee gelee on raspberry.)
Then, its no pc / Mac / vm or monitor neccessary to run the exploit :-))))

UPDATE:

Here is my first try to run the exploit when the switch in RCM is connected to the Pi 3:

https://github.com/Darkmelman/udev_rule_fusee_gelee_pi3

Note:

to get idVendor and idProduct, run lsusb after connect the switch in RCM mode

UPDATE 2:

Errors corrected on GitHub and idVendor and idProduct added!

Its working fine! ;-))

Enter RCM mode and 3 seconds later fusee runs!

Awesome stuff... Been a lot of talk about trying to use a raspberry pi on the forums but this is the first I've heard of someone actually testing it

Would like to see a write up on this, even if it's just a basic one - might give me the incentive to dig out my pi and give it a shot

nice, this way we can make a script , activate it with gpio button.

hook it up to a powerbank, OTG RCM ftw

Hi naed06,

the problem is the restriction that new members don't allowed to post links.

Use all the steps from the [Tutorial] How to test Fusee Gelee

but setup pyusb with python3 instead of python...

Good luck!

Yes, I think it should work!!!

Best alternative since there is no untethered solution...I think pi zero w works also, but I have to test it...maybe today...

Well you only need 10 posts to activate your account to post links, more discussion here will easily see you got that number ;)

Yes! This one for example.

On the webpage from pimoroni is also a link to the software (library for the shim)

Why would you need a pin or button for that ? Can you just run autostart script running in a loop which detect if NVidia APX is detected and then trigger exploit ?

Easy peasy

In think I'd skip the buttons (although I can see the benifit) I'd prefer to SSH in using my mobile phone to activate the script

so...bad news...pi zero w isn't working...(maybe someone figures it out but I think the problem is the OTG USB adapter.. :-(

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Actually it require xhci support with specific conditions. This can be achieved by patching linux kernel.
No, no raspberry pi model have USB3.0

But I looks like the pi 3 is working with the libusb and pyusb installation like ubuntu

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
