read understand and then comment.
i didnt say they would ban purely on this fact but this paired with it being charges by system while reading as low could may aswell trigger a much depper scan.
Like veryfing sysmoduls etc. (sure those will be spoofed at one point but it could evolve in a cat and mouse scenario)
okay, I can see that. You're right, I misread. I could see this being used to maybe trigger a flag instead of outright banning. I still don't feel Ninty would pour resources into something like this though.

they added a per title black list for ds flash card on the 3ds so i wouldnt doubt they would do this.

Thats correct. When PIN 10 is shorted JoyCon isn't detected as in handheld mode. It has been reported by many users online and there is noone actually stating different. It's working fine just over bluetooth.

This is incorrect as stated by the reswitched team and my own mod of the joycon.
As long as pin 9 is shorting against pin 10 and both are still making connection to their respective pads on the switch, handheld mode works fine. I even turned off Bluetooth and made sure. I would post proof but I'm not sure how that would convince you.

That would be nice. According to every single proof and reverse engineering work of dekuNukem I believe (and I know that) that when PIN 10 is grounded JoyCon is not able to use Serial connection via rail.

You know... I'm that kind of guy who doesn't believe what people say but rather what I see.

So you don't have this issue? I'll be checking it myself in a few hours I just want some idea of what others are experiencing too.

Nope, it shows up as being attached when I attach it.

(you are literally believing what someone said ;) )

I'm not going to try and argue with anyone, but I modded my joycon this afternoon, I've used it to boot the Fusee Gelee PoC exploit and I've just booted fail0verflow's Linux kernel a couple of times, so I'm pretty darned sure it's working, and when I boot back into Horizon, the joycon shows up as being attached to the Switch. I can't tell you anything about what's going on under the hood, whether that icon is lying to me, etc. I can just report what I'm seeing, and when I have enough posts on this forum, I'll attach a pic.

And do they work on tablet mode? Some people claims they stop working on tablet mode and only bluetooth works.

As far as I can see, yes they still work in tablet mode - at least the little icon at the bottom left of the Switch homescreen shows them both connected.

i had done a hard mod to my joycon on day one to begin tinkering as my diy jig didnt work out so well. JoyCon worked fine until then next morning when it began to show signs of problems, connecting and disconnecting itself from the console. I removed the hardmod in the joycon and it remedied itself after about 12 hours of it doing whatever the hell it wanted. I'm chalking it up to a loop/bug caused by letting them attached too long. EDIT: The joycon was on for few hours idling in bluetooth mode while i lay there covered in wires sleeping.

I also opted to use a small switch while soldering to the pads on the cable. I however used the built in button you use to detach the joycon. Attached one wire to the screw as there is a metal plate there, super glued a thin piece of copper to the bottom of the button with the other wire attached. so now my right eject button is also the 'home' button.

Interesting. Indeed I did the same exercise so many times and for me it always shows as not handheld mode when I ground PIN 10. What kind of mod are you using ? Permament ? PIN 10 & 9 ? Which FW ?

I soldered the connections for pins 9 and 10 on the flexible circuit in the rail, but one possibility as to why this is happening is that I don't have a pin 9 anymore connecting to the switch - I started out bending the pins together, but I decided it was too risky in terms of damaging the tablet's pins. In the process of bending it back, pin 9 got ruined and so I snipped it off. I don't think that should really make much difference though, since it's just ground, but who knows.
