Confirmed and tested to be ok to transfer Game update for Cars 3 on the switch.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Latest Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 version 1.09.01, transfering Game update data is ok

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

This is a link to a video showing what NOT TO DO.

THIS LINK AND VIDEO IS FOR DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES SHOWING PEOPLE HOW IT WOULD LOOK IF A SYSTEM UPDATE WAS TRANSFERED WITH A GAME UPDATE.

DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS GAME UPDATE SPECIFICALLY. XENOBLADE CHRONICLES 2, OR KIRBY.

That seems like it should be safe to do. I'm assuming it doesn't actually start updating the system until the update is fully downloaded, as that would be stupid. Too many variables. Wifi could drop due to interference (especially considering how poor wifi signal is on the Switch), or either of the consoles could run out of battery and you'd end up with a brick. With a normal system update you aren't even prompted to update until the update has been fully downloaded AFAIK so the only way you could brick from that is if the Switch ran out of battery.

The thing is, being offline ever since the 5.0 update came out, when I inserted the Kirby cartridge, it prompted to download the software update and I was like "HOW THE F*CK DO THEY DO THAT?! How does the system / cartridge know there's an update for the game when it has never been used while being online?!
Ninty is stepping their p*ssy game up this time, huh? :whip:
they have always been doing it like this, same goes for 3ds. its called a day one update.

Thanks for testing the 1.3.1 Xenoblade update.

Guess I will have to finish the game on 1.3.0 on my 4.1.0 Switch.

Unfortunately I'm in the same boat on my one switch.

Will be UPDATING with further game compatability with this update method.

Might test Pokken Tournament DX along with a few other games once I get my hands on them. If only they were free lol.

Tried to transfer splatoon update data from a 5.0.2 system to a 4.0.1 system and it will try to update the system instead of the software. I have not updated my 4.0.1 switch, thank goodness.

I wouldn't try any Splatoon 2 version after 2.3.2. 2.3.3+ came after 5.0 was released and most likely require it.
