Like for example you can launch Nintendo Gamecube games in Wii mode using Nintendont?
Sorry if this question sounds stupid to you, I am just wondering. ^_^

You have 2 choices
1. TWLoader just a simple cia install and you can run .nds roms downside is low compatibility: https://gbatemp.net/threads/twloader-ctr-mode-nds-app.448375/
2. A flashcart downside you have to purchase a cart for anywhere between 15-20$ but %99.9 compatibility: https://www.nds-card.com/ make sure to buy one compatibily with 3ds like the r4i gold 3ds rts

They're asking if it would be possible to load games in the 3DS mode, rather than go into "DS mode".

Nintendont actually doesn't use the GCN mode. You're thinking of Dios Mios (Lite). If it did use the GCN mode, then it wouldn't work on the vWii as that has no GCN mode.
No, you're thinking of Dios Mios.
Oh I thought it used GCN mode, since it wasn't an emulator. My bad. :)

that's not really possible. In the case of the Wii, it uses the same CPU and GPU in Wii mode as it's using in GC mode, they're just higher clocked (+ some minor details).

But in the case of the 3DS the DS part is an entire different subsystem with a different CPU and GPU. The DS's main processor (ARM9) in 3DS mode is reserved for the OS (encryption stuff) and not accessible for user mode processes. The DS's co-processor (ARM7) and both the DS's 2D and 3D GPU are unused and not accessible either in 3DS mode. Though I'm not sure if this is enforced by hardware or software (it's probably a mix of both). For the sake of the question it doesn't really matter, because DS mode is not a different mode of the hw running 3DS software, it's running completely entirely hw.

The ARM7 is not running outside GBA or DS(i) mode. It's enforced by hardware.

As for the actual question: Not impossible to run DS games in 3DS mode but it's a huge pain and not worth the effort. It basically boils down to emulation.

That's too bad it might've been a cool idea to have something like Nintendont on 3DS for running DS games in 3DS mode to take advantage of the better Wifi hardware.

That might still be doable by modifying the WiFi module firmware. But that is a different beast.
