ive just bought my modded 3ds. since my lil sister likes it very much, im trying to find a way that allows modded 3ds to play multiplayer via lan. because if its achievable, im planing to buy another modded 3ds so we can play games like mario kart multiplayer. or even zelda. or maybe trade pokemons just between us. really appreciate if anyone can help us with it. thanks!

p.s
im really hoping that i don't need to go online on my 3ds.

LAN? Local multiplayer maybe?

Both local multiplayer and online multiplayer work perfectly, if that's the idea.
yes2. i mean local multiplayer. let's say that i downloaded a game at freeshop. can i play the game via local multiplayer if my 3ds is modded?

sorry didn't reply sooner. i don't have a notification for this site

It depends on the game. Some games need both people to have a copy of the game, while some work with download play.
even when both only have the downloaded version?..and..how do i connect between the 3ds in the game? does it not require the download play?

I mean, playing the game locally, hacked or not hacked, will work.
You only need to have the game (acquired by any way) and it will work.
i still don't understand how to connect between the 3ds. before, i assumed that i need to be online to play multiplayer. sorry, i just join the 3ds race a week ago..(T_T)

What game are you trying to play?
i think.. zelda maybe..or kirby..or mario cart..but definitely going to trade pokemon if i can via local multiplayer.

as long as both consoles are the same region or you are playing DS games, its fine, otherwise, its very game dependant, mario kart 7 is unplayable between regions without a wifi connection as is pretty much every 3DS download play title

but, how do i connect it?? i don't really understand the connection part.

Usually there's a Multiplayer option on the game's main menu. When you use local multiplayer, it directly communicates with the other 3DS, not any online servers. So you can use local multiplayer even if you're not connected to wifi.

But first you should register the other 3DS as a friend. You can do that from the Friends menu on the 3DS's home screen.

If you think you will get banned for using a hacked system on line, you won't. As long as you don't use cheats on line or go on line with a game that isn't released yet.

ohh really.. it thought even to register as a friend we needed online function.. so same goes to (for example : mario kart). i just need to make a room after added the other modded 3ds as a friend, then i can just simply play it?

I think so, I've never used local multiplayer on Mario Kart, only online multiplayer.

My 3ds has been hacked for a few months now and I haven't been banned. So I think you're safe.

No problem! I'm glad it helped :)

there is no need of adding the other player as a friend to play locally
