Sonic 2 level editor?

Does anyone know any good s2 level editor's?

every time i use the following:

Sonic ED: black screen & application crash

Sonic ED 2: HTF does this werk?

Chaos: red screen on start up (fusion claims it is a checksum error)

ive never used a level editor for the sonic games, but did you try fixing the checksum to see if that works?

SonED2 worked for me, the last time I checked.

If you're open to Sonic Mania modding as opposed to modding the original Genesis titles, I would suggest using OtherworldBob's fork of Maniac Editor; it's practically indispensable for editing levels in Mania.
