Check that you mapped the dpad buttons in Xoutput correctly. You can use Monitor vJoy to see the correct numbers of your dpad buttons.

I messed around some more with it, all the buttons and settings are correct, but now the game won't recognize the joycons at all, even when I stop xoutput. The joycons have plenty of battery power.

Edit: Nevermind, I reinstalled the driver and it's fine now, but xoutput/d-pad is still not working. All the buttons are mapped as shown in the pictures.

Second Edit: I finally got it working! I decided to use JoytoKey instead of Xoutput.

I found this adapter on amazon. Does someone know whether or not the analog sticks of the Joy-Cons are analog with that? I found the same question in a youtube comment of a video demonstration but the manufacturer/seller didn’t answer it.

I decided to ask that question on the product page. I haven't purchased that adapter, but I assume the Joy Cons function the same as when they're used with the Mayflash Magic NS adapter.

Someone answered my question, and said "supposed to be Analog according to the support staff." Not quite a confirmation yet, but at least someone made an answer.
Sounds good. I’ll still wait for an official confirmation. I recall a comment on youtube saying something about “like Mayflash”, which would imply that it may be a clone of the Mayflash adapter that lacks analog stick support.

Okay. Connecting the Joycons works fine, in the USB Game Controllers, you can see that buttons are registered when pressed on each individual Joycon.

I don't understand the vJoy section. I can't get vJoy to detect my Joycons once the Joycon Driver is executed... Not a single guide about setting up vJoy makes sense to me and everytime someone has asked a question about the vJoy section it's been ignored on other sites hahaha

Loading the Joycon Driver seems to work okay, the LED's on the controller stop flashing when the Driver is run which I believe means that they're seen as Controller #1. The gyro test works with the Right Joycon but the left seems to affect nothing gyro wise.

So the only issue is getting vJoy to see the Joycons as 1 controller now.

I just wanna use my Switch Joycons on Steam, I feel like I'm so close and it's frustrating.

Watch this video apparently there's no analog support for the joysticks since the camera moves abruptly

Is there anyway to have the driver running without having the CMD and .exe windows open?
I made it work perfectly but every time I close either i lose connection.

Uh, don't close them then? If you're on Windows 10, you can move them to a different desktop so they won't be on the taskbar or anything, just open the task view, make a new desktop, and drag them over. Otherwise just live with them being there.

I followed all the steps but the joycon's driver doesn't make the joycon vibrate and obviously if I check the joycons by the game controller of windows they won't work... (I'm using win10).

Make sure you paired them properly, and check the console output, if it says something like "vjoy device 1 is not installed or disabled" you didn't setup vjoy correctly.

Try using the Steam Controller Configurator, If you want to use the Left JoyCon for Gyro Controls instead of the Right, check the "Prefer Left JoyCon for Gyro Controls" check box
You might not be able to get it to work with every steam game, but x360ce and xOutput are good options

I try this for one entire morning but nothing. The Joycon are not reconize from my bluetooth. Ironicly enough the Wii U Pro Controller is reonize at the first try. I have Windows 10.
I can't post links yet, but the bluetooth adapter I use/recommend is the plugable bluetooth adapter, it's like $14 on amazon.
If the adapter isn't the problem, make sure you setup vJoy correctly

With latest drivers for the joycons 4 windows if you connect via USB can you see what bluetooth mac adress its locked into it?

I wanted to input the bluetooth mac adress of my nintendo Switch and inject it into my DS4 to see if it would pair with the switch.

Anybody else have trouble getting this to work with Steam games? snes9x works fine with joycons. x and dpad up seems to confirm, and b and dpad down exits out of steam overlay entirely. My games pick up that I'm using a controller and everything, it's just that nothing works when I'm in game.

I also tested it on Dolphin, and my suspicion was right: the analog sticks are just directional inputs, ala Super Mario 64 DS. I tested it with only one Joycon though, with the right one. I could play snes9x properly with two joycons as one controller, but apparently Dolphin was different, or the same as Steam. I had hat switch inputs instead of analog with the left joycon, too.

edit: turns out that I didn't have mfosse's driver on the whole time.
