Hacking update to 4.55?

I currently have my PS4 on 4.05 fw, is it a good idea to update to 4.55? Does it keep all the same functionality? Can i play my back ups on 4.55?

If there are any 4.55 games you wish to play then yes update. 4.05 games work on 4.55 but if there aren't any 4.55 games you wish to play then stay on 4.05 until 4.45 is more stable.

What are you waiting for? The tooth fairy with magic 4.07 keys? There is absolutely no reason for you to be on 4.07. Update to 4.55 and enjoy the freedom.

If there are any 4.55 games you wish to play then yes update. 4.05 games work on 4.55 but if there aren't any 4.55 games you wish to play then stay on 4.05 until 4.45 is more stable.

Before you update, confirm the 4.55 releases you want to play, don't actually work on 4.05. From what I have read, all 4.55 releases so far, work fine on 4.05. I have not seen any confirmed 4.55 dump that does not work on 4.05.

I installed the Tekken 7 4.55 release earlier this evening on my 4.05 PS4, no issues. That release supposedly requires 4.50 minimum.

I have read just as many people being unhappy that they updated to 4.55 as people that are happy that updated from 4.05. Other than 4.55 payload supporting sleep mode (which I don't use) it does not seem like there is any advantage to being on 4.55 at the moment. Especially if your happy with your current success ratio on your PS4 on 4.05.

If something changes at some point requiring 4.55 then you always have the option.

You can check the fake signed packages floating in the Intertubes with the leaked "oris-pub-chk" tool, the relevant part is the line "Required System Software Version"...

Don't forget 4.55 allows external hdd use. It's only for official games at the moment (since the hen payload dev is one of those anti-piracy hypocrites) but it's only a matter of time till someone else unlocks it for fpkg too.

I've only looked at the commits briefly, he changed the name of the sources (from payload to kpayload) so the github pages aren't so useful and I haven't passed the files with a diff yet, anyway it looks like he "only" fixed the offsets for FW 4.55, the version 1.3 was for FW 4.05.

The "only" above means he had decrypted, dumped and reversed the symbols of the functions used in the HEN code for the FW 4.55 and he updated the ps4-payload-sdk repository...

Edit: I'm curious to know if his HEN on FW 4.55 is compatible with rest mode tho...

With this and updates made to 4.55 payloads in the past 24 hours, 4.55 should be much stabler now. I see no reason NOT to upgrade to 4.55 after external HD support is added, especially if you're on a PRO.

I know. It is an excellent to know since I read about it somewhere else. However, I will stay lower than 4.05 and 4.55 just in case unless the team said its okay. You never know that 3.55 might be better than 4.05 and 4.55 with merge to play the games higher than 4.55. The same for PS3, remember? I will wait a little bit longer. I hate to wait because it is so good that I almost tempting to update it, lol.

If someone is still interested I've read a couple of random people confirming that FW 4.55 exploit and XVortex HEN are compatible with rest mode.
