Gaming (Rocket league) duplicating glitch?

I found a video of duplicating items in rocket league and dont know if thats real.

If its real you could add me and create ghost items for me if you want. I post this on gbatemp because i dont know if i got banned on official rocket league websites

1)1 player invites the other to trade.
2) 1 player pick a item and click okay
The other player picks nothing
3)then in the 5th (last) second the player must press the b button
4) now the trade is cancelled and you get your item

Not sure to understand so when a player picks an item, in the 5second that follow the pick the other player need to cancel .

It not duplicating them, it's ghosting them. That gives you a useless item. Some people said that they were gonna use it to scam others, so I'm not gonna participate in this.

I've just tested this with a friend and the duped (ghost) item disappears after restarting the game. I don't know if you can do trade-ups with ghost items tho, going to test it later

UPDATE: Ghost items can't be traded-up either (inventory will resync)

Yep, exactly as he said. It was accidentally triggered when me and my cousin traded, I ended up with his heatwave and he still kept his heatwave but it only lasted until I rebooted the game. Once I rebooted he kept his heatwave and I had nothing.
