ROM Hack An exception ocurred while trying to launch a specific title

After booting the game from home menu I get this

An exception occurred

Processor: ARM11 (core 1)
Exception type: prefetch abort (svcBreak)
Current process:loader (0000000000000000000000000000)



I'm on b9s+Luma,luma is on the latest version and so is the system firmware.This isn't a region lock problem as I can run the sequel to this specific title just fine,in the foreign language.On luma settings (pressing select while booting) I only have show NAND or user string in system settings checked.If I disable ARM11 exception handlers and boot the title it loops the 3ds logo loading screen.When I press enable debugger in the menu where you press (L+down on d-pad and select) it fails.Tried to launch rosalina (the same menu) when booting that game,it overrides it.Anyway when I retried to enable debugger it said already enabled.I downloaded the cia from another source still does the same.

Edit: I've tried enabling game patching in luma settings it did nothing

What game are you trying to run exactly? If it only happens on that one game, then most likely you are missing the seed for it, so go on FBI, go to installed titles, find the game and install the seed from there. As for "game patching", it only works if you manually add patch files, which you haven't, so no reason to bother with it.

Make sure your WIFI is on and connected to internet. Then try it again.

It said that it's successful but it didn't work.I can confirm I am connected to the internet because I logged in the eshop earlier today

it could be a bad install. uninstall then reinstall the cia. Then try to import seed again with wifi connected.

I just noticed that when you try to install the cia file,the version says : 0 (0.0.0). Seems kinda fishy.Updated fbi to 2.14 . I'll fill you in on the details

Version 0.0 means it's a cartridge dump. Unless it's cartridge exclusive, you might want to find a CDN CIA of it. Use either Villain3DS or FreeShop to look for it. It's listed in Japanese on there though, so: 大逆転裁判 ‐成歩堂龍ノ介の冒険

Thanks ThoD,I searched in villain3ds for the title as you mentioned it in japanese and found out it has an update.Downloaded the CIA to it and installed upon the base game (the one that was version 0.0.0) and it launched finally!

Bottom line for the users that read this post: You probably have an outdated version of the game and need to download the latest version through villain3ds or Freeshop

It wasn't an outdated version, just a bad dump, happens often. Have fun now that the game works!

PS: Let me know if it's any good, as I've been thinking about trying it out sometime...
