In order to celebrate the upcoming HD Trilogy of the Devil May Cry series, Capcom will be giving out copies of the first game remastered to all Twitch Prime users. On February 27th, those with a linked Amazon Prime and Twitch account will be able to visit Twitch.tv and claim their copy of the PC version. For those that don't have either, you can still sign up for a free trial and get the game that way. Note that you need the Twitch game client launcher, and that the game will only run on Windows. Devil May Cry HD Collection will be launching on March 14, 2018 and will retail for $29.99 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

What is twitch prime?
Amazon bought Twitch back in 2014. In 2016, Amazon/Twitch announced that anyone with an Amazon Prime subscription would receive an "upgraded" Twitch Prime subscription on Twitch for free.

Twitch Prime has the added benefits of giving you a free Twitch Subscription per month for whatever streamer you might want to subscribe to, some new emotes and badges and colors while in Twitch chat, and they also give out free games and in-game items as well. Most of the time, it's just random in-game loot or loot boxes, but every now and again they give out free games.

That's pretty cool - from what I've heard Twitch/Amazon Prime is a good deal in general. Personally I don't have it since there's no Amazon in this country though. Well, there technically is, but all they sell is ebooks.

Mehhhhhh.... Why are they pushing their game launcher... :|

It's all about Money ...Amazon want to sell more games through the platform.

The more famous twitch users will get free games to play... pretty much like when YouTubers get so called free games to review, we all know the game is shit but they give the impression it's wonderful ...and the followers go out and buy that game.

But I think there still bitter about giving in to Google demand, so they want to take down YouTube or at least take aware some of the advertisers.

I wonder if this will work with the 30 day prime free trial???

The four most depressing thing about the whole Twitch Prime game give way thing is (1) most the time it's "loot" for some game I don't own, don't care about, and it's just some skin thing, (2) even when it's a game it's only getable through Twitch Prime Launcher and not Steam, Origin, etc, which leads to, (3) even if the game has a Linux version, I can't get it because Twitch Prime Launcher isn't available for Linux, and (4) most the time I only find out about actual games from not-Twitch because their own blog software sucks and the only other main option is to, I guess, constantly keep Twitch logged-in and keep an eye out for it?

Having that rant done, so I take it this is the 2001 version and not the DmC reboot, so I finally can add that to my collection. Funny too that Wikipedia says the HD collection originally came out on XBox 360/PS3 in 2012. Wonder why the waited until now to port it. :/
