Hacking Vwii external hard drive questions

hello, I have currently hacked my Wii U and have a few questions about USB loader gx and Nintendont. I have a 1gb external hard drive, but I have already saved various important files to it. Is there a way to use it for USB loader go and Nintendont? Or is it like the standard Wii U where it formats everything. (Apologies for any spelling mistakes, posted this from my phone).

You can use it as is. It doesn't need to be formatted as long as it's fat32

I see. It was the "USB Loader Go" comment that threw me off. There is such a thing as Wii U USB Helper Go (android app) but I'm sure the user just mistyped "go" and meant "gx".

You are correct that was a typo, the only question I have now is do I have to partition a certain amount of free space for these two apps or can I just use it normally and it will read off any wii and gamecube games that are on the drive
