what i wonder is, how did you get the set of button you have to press, and when to press them?
did you like reverse engineering it to plug it on your computer with cable to learn all this?
I honnestly dont know if there is another way, because all those set of button to press at the right moment, i wonder how else ylou could have get them

the combo is kite similar to the android stuff to enter in recovery mode, just a bit more complicated... maybe the guy was bored and was trying out combos to get into a boot menu like a tablet or something

Sorry to disappoint all, but this just minimally boots the OS and, if you have networking set up, download an update if one is available and then install it. It probably installs Game Card updates too but we don't know.
I'm the one who made the video, by the way.

Was this patched on 4.1? I can't get it to launch but I may be doing something wrong

Did you turn off your Switch when it was updating? If so, have you tried to send it to Nintendo to get it repaired?

I can't go to Recovery Mode for some reason even though I press the buttons and volume nothing happens and i can't send for Nintendo to get it repaired because i living in Brazil =/
PS: Sorry for my English

I left my Switch in a friend's house so I can not try this on the topic, but my hope is that if I can execute this combination that the Switch will update in some way and I can finally solve the problem

Do you need some cartridge / game to enter this mode?, My games are all digital (it imports games in physical media is very expensive in Brazil)

You mean the thing most devices have as a convenient measure to save them from being irreparable ?
What device has an autoboot button combo that bypasses all security checks on their commercial firmware? There is no other gaming console that does that.

How does that even save a brick?

This is coming from the company that had a button combo on the 3ds that auto booted whatever was in the cartridge slot
Not exactly "whatever". It has to be an NTR-mode (DS) cartridge with a signed FIRM binary.

The problem with 3DS is that the BootROM's signature verification function is broken.

Not specifically consoles, but all sorts of mobile phones. It's called a recovery mode, and that would never have been discovered if the 3DS wasn't already completely cracked open.

Edit: Actually, the PS3 does have such a feature as well. Won't save it from most bricks, but it exists.
