Hi. I have a N3DS running on 11.2.0-35U with soundhax. I want to upgrade to CFW. I'm using this tutorial: https://3ds.guide/homebrew-launcher-(soundhax)
Under "What you need", it says latest homebrew launcher. I already have a boot.3dsx file from installing Soundhax before. Do I just delete that one, and add in this new boot.3dsx file?

Thanks for the help, really appreciate it.

Thanks. Also, I'm doing this through the Micro3DS management feature, where I connect my 3DS to my computer wirelessly, instead of inserting the microSD into the computer. The 3DS is on while I'm doing this. Is this safe?

I already used the wireless management thing when I installed soundhax, so I assumed this was safe. Is it?

Alright just going to continue using the MicroSD wireless management thing

I haven't gone through the guide in quite awhile but for example it used to have parts where you would be in GM9 or similar and we're told to press the button to unmount the SD and insert it into your computer without turning it off or exiting the app. If there is still any part like that this will not be a viable option in that situation as there is good reason it tells you not to exit the apps. Though again I haven't read through the guide in ages and such parts may no longer exist. I know they are always changing the guide as simpler/more idiot proof methods pop up.

Is GM9 A must-download? Do I need it?

Only thing I can think of recently that required directly accessing the SD was updating B9S from 1.0 to 1.2 (as the payloads for one was not compatible with the other). That's obviously a non-issue for a new installation.

It's a handy tool and the guide instructs you to use it for certain things. I'd get it and make a NAND backup (and essential files backup when prompted) for safety in case you need it later.

Do I need GM9? It's in the finalizing steps, but says I need to press certain buttons to eject the SD card. I can't do this, because I'm going to use the wireless management feature.

If the guide says to use it for something use it. Do not deviate from the guide you will be risking your device

GM9 is used to backup and restore the NAND as well as copy the luma boot.firm and payloads to CTRNand so you can boot the system without an SD card.
It has loads of other features but many users don't them, so ya its a must have.

You can, but you aren't going to want to copy your NAND backup using wireless management - it's too large of a file.
Wait, QuantumCat told me CFW doesn't require much space at all. On the backup essential files section, it says you should have at least 1.2gb-1.3gb of storage on your SD card? I thought you didn't need much space at all?
