My advice is only for those that can get to boot from USB but cannot launch games.
It may be that you have to try the latest "KMFDManic-NESC-SNESC-Cores(11-11-17)" package which has the USB hakchi tool included.
Notepad is fine, Notepad++ is recommended, just because its better.

I can get the games to show up if I don't edit anything. Even the clover app loads. It's just whenever I change anything in the desktop files that it goes bad.

Some progress! I don't get the C7 error when using notepad++ the game just kicks me back to the menu.

Still isn't doing the trick for me unfortunately. When ever I change anything I either get a c8 error after the hakchi splash screen or the splash screen never goes away.

Did you try on a "clean" SNES? As in just the custom kernel flash. No mods etc. Maybe it has no impact, but you never know...

Yeah, I've been dumping my original kernal every time. Funny now, when I take out the wr I get the C7 error.

Well, I am giving up.
I wasnt happy with my installed mods for retroarch as i didnt add any cores... So I went back to factory to do it again.
This time following the same exact method, it didnt work... tried 12 times doing a variety of things.
Until this method has been incorporated into Hakchi2 and is reliable, I wont be spending time chasing my tail.
BUT - if asked to beta test new releases... Of course I am happy to help.

Gods - I'm no idiot, but I don't get this.

a) I got the same OTG cable as in madmonkey's photo - but which position should the switch be in (OTG or CHARGE)?

b) How the hell do you even get the kernel to function? I've tried following KMFDManic's directions with both a Hakchi2 custom kernel and mods installed first (but when you dump the kernel and patch it with hakchi-gui, doesn't that mean you're patching Cluster's kernel, not Nintendo's, and doesn't that make the instructions telling you to put your original dump in the dump folder rather pointless?) and a bare, unmodified, original-kernel system.

In both cases, once I memboot the first time, I immediately get "SHUTTING DOWN..." and that's all it will do, every boot.

I feel so stupid. :P

Hey guys when playing Far East of Eden Zero, everytime i turn off the console the clock and date on the game resets to zero, is there anyway to fix this? thank you

**UPDATE 11-14-17**

Thanks to DanTheMan827 for doing some bug fixes (Paths and Loading) to USB-HOST!!! File is named the same, hakchi-gui-win32(official). But, I applied the fixes! You may know him as the one who pioneered the Dual Boot NESC/SNESC Modification! Check out his Github https://github.com/DanTheMan827 , particularly the Repositories Section, for some truly awesome Modifications! Otherwise, I updated MAME 2003, FBA 2016, BlueMSX, VirtualJaguar. And, based on request, threw a 32x only Variant of PicoDrive into the Extras & Dependencies Folder. For my NEXT Update, expect a Revision to NEO-GEO:) And, I will be posting a video on USB-HOST Set-Up, Overview, and in Action by Wed/Thurs! Enjoy today's Core Update!

Try the Prototype, and in OTG Position. Also, try Official from Today's Update.

And back I come... beta testing the new release.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I am using 7zip compressed games and I took out the -wr after shvc. I am taking out the .7z after the sfrom.
Don’t forget to extract the sfrom from inside the 7z file too :)
