I don't think nintendo will remove miiverse completely.
in my regards about this situation and my concerns,
I think that they will soon enough and hopefully port
the miiverse concept on to the nintendo Switch device
and soon change the servers of the 3ds/WiiU to 3ds/Switch.

iirc, they said they would not do this, which is a tad sadening

Sadly like the nintendo zone they wont
It could be like TVii (especially considering that the Wii U also has the Miiverse icon), where they remove the icon in a forthcoming fw update.

Well, I'm just scared that the 3ds will have the same fate like its predecessors.

I mean no matter how you cut it, the 3DS is dying. Frankly I'm surprised that it'll be seeing as much support as it is going into 2018. Its a fairly old system at this point (came out in early 2011!), it's pretty amazing that it's still as relevant as it is.

well the thing is, nintendo always had that one moto which is and i quote
Specs and graphic aren't the main goal. Making breath-taking games are.

specs and graphics are always improving with everything though. be it cell phones, pcs, laptops, game consoles and handhelds. The 3ds is going to be no different than any last thing that humans make. It will get to the point that specs and graphics get better than what the console is capable of. You can already see that with games that are being made, and ultimately a newer console will likely appear which can handle the new specs.

True, well they will always update the 3ds on a newer hardware for example "new 3ds", so I shouldn't really panic.

Be that as it may, the 3DS had been on the way out for some time now, regardless of the success the Switch turned out to be, I didn't think for a second the 3DS would make it to 2019, hell, prior to the start of this year, I was sure it wouldn't even last until 2018. As far as I'm concerned the 3DS has been living on some bizarre bonus time that i never saw it having at this point.

well, consoles eventually die, that's normal, it's about time the 3ds dies and just merges into the switch or gets a proper succesor

@Alm so you would rather have the 3DS (The Nintendo Really Right Now New 3.5DS System) sill alive in the year 2030 rather than Nintendo moving to the next thing?

We could also move the Rosalina menu into a sub app, witch would help with the likes of the MK7 mod with it not running all the time. The only downside is no fast pause button (without the slow Home Button or closing the system), and the fact that sub apps doesn't work with high memory games and NTR.

But you could replace the Icon and the Banner with someone else (Homebrew Launcher for example).
Just created a Banner to test that.

EDIT:

Have to find out how to replace it now.

Just replaced model AND Icon.
Banner is buggy atm because I imported it with normal size * 10... ^^'

I said that in the post above... You can replace it, but you can't move it like that person suggested...

nevermind bro. i've taught a little bit about it, and i think they will just make more updated hardware for the 3ds for a long period of time, so i don't really need to panic about it.
