Hi guys, I'm currently using Hakchi 2.20 and I'd like to update to the newest version.

Should I reflash the original kernel and delete all the games\cores added before updating? Thanks :)
First download and install the new version. You should then click Kernel, Uninstall. Then flash your original Kernel. After that you can flash the custom kernel back to your SNESC and resync your games and reinstall the modules you want.

Hi guys.

I get the shell error too.
It helped to make a clean hakchi2 installation or unzip on a different drive. I used hakchi for my NES in the past and with this version i got the shell error.

So what I did was go to Retroarch menu, options, disable crop overscan. And then I went to settings, video, and set every game to the "core" aspect ratio. That fixes Castlevania. Only game that looked weird was Battletoads, which has a black bar on the left side... but that's an issue with the game.
Can you make a Screenshot from the Change options?

What is the reason for converting EU Roms (Pal) to NSTC ? A lot of EU Roms runnning with the native Emulator of the SNES.
Because of the 60Hz ?

The reason is that the Mini snes only Can emulate NTSC.
PAL Games Not working correct!

Whoops I didn't know there was a specific upgrade method involving reflashing original kernel . When I upgraded I just extracted the new version hakchi zip file to a brand new folder and copied across my dump and snes_games folders from my old version. Thats what i done with my nes in the past. Seemed to work ok on snes too though. Lucky I didn't have any trouble I suppose

I had to put CUSTOM and resize with an overlay.

More questions:

I've added --no-scanlines in general and it works great in CANOE roms, but retroarch is still showing scanlines.

I think it is caused by snes_games folder...

I had ONE game with same name as original and I got shell error too...

Managed to get my problems sorted. But now I have another. I have managed to get a few MAME roms to load but dose not have any joypad controls so can’t insert a coin or even press stat and select to bring up menus.

I had to put CUSTOM and resize with an overlay.

The --no-scanlines only works with canoe

Does anyone know if there is a global command to disable save states rewinds for all newly added games?

If not is the only solution to add a rewind value of 000 for each game?

Thanks

all of my MegaDrive/Genesis games are in ZIP files, should i extract them first? or would Hakchi just use em as is?

Edit - I tried just now and it couldn't read mine... I initially misread and thought you meant SNES games. I had to unzip the Genesis ones...

I tried taking advantage of the space we now have thanks to the new hakchi2, put some Genesis classics on it. It's great!

I put another retro receiver in my SNES Classic also, here are some pics of the mod, No need to open up the front panel now! It looks much better that way!

when you delete the rewind command and you activate it then you get a c7 error!
better is to reduce it from 600 (60 seconds) to 100(10 seconds) or 50 or 10

So uh, interesting finding today. Apparently not all romhacks will work with the save state tool. Tried out the SMWCentral 9th Annual Level Design Contest one on Canoe. While it otherwise works great, there are two issues with it. Loading from a save state glitches you into the level to and causes all sorts of weird things to happen. First couple of times it glitched me into a pipe, and when I walked out of it I fell through the ground and died. The final time, I tried to load a separate save state, and it was as if Mario stepped on a Switch in a Switch Palace, immediately ending the same level where I previously fell through the ground. The level completed and yellow boxes shot out from my character on the map screen. tldr the save state tool either saves or loads this data incorrectly.

Rewind also does not work on this game. It loads a frozen game and also corrupts/deletes your save data. Either way upon resetting Canoe loaded the game as if it were the first time I had played it.

However, save states work just fine with SMW2+ by Golden Yoshi. This has to be run using Retroarch even though its base game is Yoshi's Island. No idea why, but retroarch usage could be related to the save states working. More testing needed.

All this to say... Your Mileage May Vary(tm)

Alright I'll unzip them, does the cookies option work in the app tough? I'm at 210mb and I know I need space for the cover art and saves. Isn't the Mac amount of space 250mb ?
