To make my question/info complete, see the photo what Hakchi does when I add a zip of Metal Slug to it (got the same roms from several sources now, all react the same with this pop-up, so just the Neo Geo games/zips)

Well. I guess haxchi tries to zip just the one file because its set up to add one file roms. What you could try to do is let it add one of the files, then go to the game folder in the games_snes, add the zipped rom to it, and just rename it to the same as the one thats in there.

Then again that probably wont work. Depends if its looking for the specific .7z file.

Maybe you could add the whole zipped rom into the 7z and delete the odd file.

Soldering that is very easy to do but my guess is that even if you have soldered a SD or MMC to it it won't do anything for you (yet).
This extra volume propably needs to be formatted to the correct file system.
Also the system needs to recognize and mount thuis new Volume to have it useable.
This can only be done by software modifications.
Maybe @Cluster can add something in the future.

Still, I'd like to be prepaired! anyway I guess I'll wait, if Cluster does adress this problem we'll see more desire to do the same and have it work.

Yes because canoe does not emulate the SDD-1.
You need uncompressed GFX Data Paks in order to have the correct GFX.
This way they do not need to divert power to any SDD-1 Emulation.
It was done on SNES9x the same way back in like 2005.
But back then it was not about the recources, it was becuase the compression was not 100% understand at this time.
Today there is proper SDD-1 emulation but that needs more power.

Can this technique be used on other incompatible games?

I will see if I can manage to do that with my Mac, if I remember right 7z zipsoftware was PC only. Remains strange though, any other system zip/rom I throw at Hakchi (in any kind of zip) is picked up normally and not shown unzipped in a pop-up window. Hakchi then handles converting the rom to the right format (for SNES Canoe emu at least). The Neo Geo roms are the only ones doing this in Hakchi, as the Genesis/Megadrive roms added like the SNES roms did.

There must be someone else that is using/trying to use Neo Geo roms though outside me in this topic/on this forum. I hope he/she shines a light on this too.

I already can see the threads exploding with questions of people which tried to solder a sd-card to their snesc and the console does not boot up anymore... and the other half of the thread will be randomizer discussing with himself if he should do it or not.

I'm gonna solder a 5tb HD into it and try to load every Retro game :rofl2:

That's the content of the "neogeo.zip" file containing the Bios, i think the program is asking you what Bios do you want to use with that game...

Just click Importeer als archief and you will be fine as long as you have RetroArch and a module/core to run Neo Geo Games installed.

People always want what is hard or impossible to get...
In this case most get it to run at one point, play it for like 5-10 minutes and then they never look at it again. :D

Could the same be done with Star Ocean? :P Or does the Ex HiROM make it an issue?

Hello all.
My NES mini haven't been used for some time now, It's loaded with SNES, NES, MEGA DRIVE, GBC, GB -games. Much have happen since I used Hakchi2 on it (some games don't work with the old cores I have installed), so I would like to start from skratch... Can anyone give me some tips on how I can clean it out and update all retroarch cores? I don't remember exactly what cores I have installed on my NES, so any tips would be great......
Many Thanks in advance...

Under the Kernal tab choose uninstall to completely wipe everything.

Hi,

I still have the problem with Illusion of Gaia or Terranigma.

I installed the modules (Screes. 4) nothing happens.

Then pick retroarch and snes9x2010 in the game list and in the command line, at last point I write " --retroarch" (Screens. 5) but the same problem, It doesn't working.

I have no idea, what I doing wrong. Forgot I a step?

Hello guys! Sharing my tutorial video on how to hack your SNES Mini using hakchi2 ver. 2.20 and add more games to the system. NOTE: The music can be very irritating so some, so just press mute, as there is no audio commentary on the video. It is a visual step-by-step guide with onscreen text instructions so that anybody can easily follow the steps.
