Hacking "Switch the hb. title to the current app" Not Working

I am really stuck. I am trying to install A CFW on my 3DS version 6.3 and it is not going very well. Whenever I go into download play and click Switch the hb. title to the current app and exit Download Play, I open it up and it loads forever. I have tried Luma3DS 8.1.1 and 8.1 and both the exact same results. I am following 3ds.guide. Any help would be great. Thank you for your time.

make sure you open a application before you switch the app
it does not work on the home screen

edit: i have better results with AR Games

since you already have Luma installed, you are free to upgrade to to 11.6 and nothing will change
give that a try, if you want to backup your current NAND first, you can do that also in Decrypt9 or GodMode9

GodMode9 can backup SysNAND and EmuNAND. From GM9's main menu press the Home button, select "scripts" and then select "Backup EmuNAND".

I am upgrading right now. I will give you an update when it has finished. I have backed up the sysnand so I can always go back to my current firmware (I think).
