Hacking Question about sysUpdater

So i have a new 2ds xl that has never been connected to the internet after i installed CFW on it (my backup localfriendcodeseed_b if ever needed)

If i would ever need to updated the system down the road is sysUpdater still a viable way of updating offline?

So for example use 3DNUS to download the update cia files and use sysUpdater to install it.?.?

Yes except that instead of using 3dnus i would just Google the firmware version you want and download from that website that comes up with all the firmwares because I was recently trying to use 3dnus and it wasn't working. So i just downloaded from the website and it worked perfectly.
