Updated PSVR Announced

psvr.jpg

in a post update on PlayStation Blog's "PlayStation VR: The Ultimate FAQ" today, Sony announced that a "hardware update to PlayStation VR is being prepared".

This updated PSVR's design will enable the stereo headphone cables to be integrated with the VR headset and a slimmer, streamlined connection cable. HDR pass through will also be supported thanks to an updated Processor Unit, enabling users to enjoy HDR-compatible PS4 content on a TV without having to disconnect the Processor Unit in between the TV and the PS4 system. The post noted that this function can be used only when the VR headset is turned off.

However, because the cables of CUH-ZVR1 (old version) and CUH-ZVR2 (updated version) are different, you cannot swap the Processor Units.

As for the pricing for the PS VR bundles, it will remain the same and all PS VR games are compatible with both PS VR models.

You can read the full post update in the source below:

xbx1 can remote play on any device running win10 ;)
PS4 can remote play via its app or using a vita ;)

so when all the nintendo fans are defending old ports and inferior versions because of its "portability"...... HMMM kk, its not like we cant do this on the other systems and have superior version of said game and cheaper.
Streaming with inconsistent quality and guaranteed input lag vs natively playing on the handheld console... Hmmmm

I swear... With each post it's like you're getting worse.. Should probably get that checked out.

FYI guys rendering VR is much more hardware-intensive than rendering games normally. That's why PSVR looks like PS3 and even PC VR looks about a half-gen back. It's still worth it, because it's a completely different feeling to have enemies actually towering above you in height.

PS3 graphics were pretty good actually.
It just shows how current-gen systems are weak, if not bad.
Never said it was bad, just outdated, i'm not that kind of guy who will say that N64 is bad, they where good at their time, so was the PS3, but in 2017... a PS3 graphic level on a Ps4 PRO...

Do you think hologram will ever be a thing? It might even require less computing power, more immersive, and does not require headsets or even headphones.

On a large scale, AR will be in a good place long before holograms are. IMO holographic tech is perfect for phones and information kiosks, but not much else.

if you suffer lags, then i would check with your ISP because ive never had any issues and when i do its been due to a drop in speed.

FACT #1
as long as your connection remains stable to stream your connection, then you will not face any problems.

but yea, lets favour natively playing old games that we had during the PS3/360 generation or this generation games being dumbed right down and striped of features and costs more.

i can clearly see your argument here, your internet lag is a major flaw, yet you defend old/inferior/expensive.

fanboys are amusing.

take DOOM, it looks a total pile of crap on the switch, it costs more and its OLD, yes this is OK because its portable, or because my ISP is not crap I can remote play DOOM in 1080p via my laptop.

inferior version or superior version.

hmmmm and you claim i am getting worse LOLz

You're talking about something which involves allot of variables.

Even if you have the most reliable internet connection at home, when travelling you may have no choice.

Last place I went to on holiday had a 2mbps max and when I tried to stream bioshock infinite it was unplayable despite having a decent enough connection at home (god forbid trying to play something like DOOM).

In this case, I'd gladly take a playable switch port.

you do know it has nothing to do with the game your playing, its not like trying to run DOOM on a PC with inferior hardware vs a PC with superior hardware.

but to those that are now bum loving said games they slated the other systems for, simply because its portable.... yet its ok paying more for an inferior version (which they have slated other systems for in the past).

you know what, means nothing, do i pay more for DOOM because its portable or do i save money get the PS4/XBX1 version and remote play it.... but i actually already own DOOM.

But lets say i didnt own it, and that it wasnt a late port, if it came out at the same time I would have been tempted but then it puts me off because it costs more for the switch version which has been dumbed right down and looks crap in comparison.

so far the switch is getting ports of said games with features cut out or old ports of old games dumbed down.

take LA NOIRE, yes its another old port but the PS4/XBX1 are getting so called "remasters" where as the switch is getting a port based on the PS3 version and comes as no surprise the switch version again costs more for an inferior version.

So if my life sucks that bad and i must play games on the shitter, i could remote play not only the cheaper it will be the superior version in 1080p using my laptop.

i wonder if the higher price tag for old inferior ports will work out for nintendo third party support, or will this put people off and sales not meet expectations and they drop off, which is usually the case.

but hey if i am wrong and the switch starts getting the same new third party titles that are not stripped of features and dont look like the original xbox then id buy it, after all my problem with nintendo is that it has always lacked the option to buy XXX game for the switch when ive had nothing new worth buying where as on PS4/XBX1 i have plenty.

You're missing the point, streaming simply isn't an option for everyone.

That's why people may prefer the Switch version, even if it's inferior in some way, if they want the portable aspect.

I also mentioned DOOM because it's coming to the Switch and even if inferior, would still at least be playable.

but thats the point the switch is getting games nintendo fans have slated for being a boring fps/blood and guts and ironic isnt it that when something just like this comes to the swtich, turns blind eye to everything they just hated the other systems for, turn a blind eye to the fact its more expensive, turns a blind eye to the fact that its diluted piss and that said game (maybe not so much doom) is an old port.

that all doesnt matter because its portable, i guess it proves that nintendo lovers will agree to anything when its nintendo, yet slate if its the others.

remote play may not be an option for everyone, but thats due to the ISP, but to put it back on the point, ps4/XBX1 gamers have been able to play games away from the home, so using the PORTABILITY of the switch as a means to say its ok to get inferior but expensive ports, doesnt stand with me.

I have never had any issues remote playing away from my home, why would i get a boner when nintendo get a half ass version that costs more when i can remote play the game i already own or buy cheaper?

makes no sense at all

Streaming works for you, I get it, lucky you.

But for many, as I've said, streaming simply may not be an option regardless of the reasons why and that's why people may enjoy ports for the Switch.

I don't bother using the streaming functions because it's never as good or reliable as I need it to be.

It may be a choice of the Switch version or nothing and I know what I'd rather have.

People in here bitching about slight graphic drops in vr when they are Nintendo fanboys. Give me a break. You don't even notice the loss in graphics in some psvr games like farpoint, rigs, valkyrie and for the most part re7 (aside from some peripheral artifacts). Soon we'll have doom, skyrim and fallout too.

But in the same thread. "Don't care if doom is watered down.. nintendo!".

Shitty doom on a portible tablet, or being immersed in the doom world and looking up at demons that tower over you? Hmm..

Funny cause I can hit native 4k Ultra 60 with a decent PC.
You called PS Vita's connection stable? Regarding La Noire yes the graphic might be last gen but the engine itself is updated.
That portability also means you can play it on the bus and more importantly play it in your face without shiity touch screen, which is a lot more convenient than on the big screen for action games.
Many Nintendo fanboys might als have a pc.

My only gripe with PSVR is that I want it to officially work on PC.

At this point VR is dead but both Vive and Rift have comparable price to PSVR after some drop. I remember last time they offered me 700 CAD for the whole set.

That's why Sony has had so much trouble meeting demands with psvr
What's the best experience you had on vr thus far? anything beyond a glorified tech demo? Not to mention the vomiting it caused (to me it's actually the headphone cause I get really pissed using them but totally fine with speakers) Just look at Skyrim/ Fallout 4/ Doom Vr, which is arguable the mostcontent rich vr game that also have standard counterpart.
Trinus vr should do for now, it's not like sony have proper vr sensors anyway.
Also perhaps there could be an addon "beacon" for the joycon to make it vr capable, but the switch is way underpowered at this point. Then again joycon could be connected to pc.

you do know that the switch relies on touch screen for majority of its games, also its joycon and gyroscope.... do you know that these are features R* are including to the switch version right.

So sorry to say but you will have features with shitty touch screen.

But depending on how they do this, these features can actually break this so called PORTABILITY that nintendo fans are saying its ok to pay more for old/inferior ports.

Take BOTW as a prime example, how majority of the shrines required motion controls which would be impossible if your playing PORTABLE.

Actually majority of it don't use touch screen, that's just added convenience.
I finished most of BOTW in master mode on my bed, and while it hard to try to keep looking at the screen, flipping the switch feels kind of natural. Most of my switch time is in portable mode, just inches away from tv.

Have you not been playing psvr recently? We have full-fledged games bro. We also have online games and more are coming. The psvr is on the rise. We're getting a shit ton of platformers and adventure games end of this year and by mid 2018. The camera is a weird way to track headset, controller, and move controllers but it works really well.
