My system us still on 11.2.0-35 running luma , is there any safe way to update the firmware and keep homebrew?

I too am having trouble. Luma is giving me a message "You cannot install the latest hourly at this time." Current installed version is 8.1.1-f6483ec, but it says the latest hourly is a74d9c6. I admit I don't understand anything about the details of how this works, but its odd that what appears to be the later version starts with an earlier character.

Hourlies aren't labeled like releases, they use the random aplha-numeric string assigned to the commits when pushed to the master branch. They are never in order like that. If you visit the Luma Github you'll see that the last commit is a74d9c6.
